Hey Atlanta! Howdy neighbor!
Personally, I think the burnt taste comes from the black gunk on the coil. I rinse and do a dry burn at each refill. If I'm in a hurry, I'll add 1/2 a tank but I do start to taste burnt towards the end and it starts to turn my juice dark. If I do it each time I refill, the juice taste great all the time.

Hey there neighbor!
I haven't tried cleaning mine yet, since all mine are still new...(what are you rinsing with?)..so the burn will take care of the gunk on the coil... I'll give it a try. if I'm undedstanding, I will let the coil become red and then stop...maybe do that 2 or 3 times? Or until there is no more smoke. How many times do you do that?? Thanks for your help :)

I use tap water. With the stock carts id use the sink sprayer for a minute, Blow it out as much as you can when you're done and dry burn like you said. No need to continue once the coils glow red a few times. Then refill. You should notice a bid difference.

Droid is not perfect until it reads my mind and spells it correct!

I'm experimenting with "do nothing". I fill my 5ml tank every morning and I won't clean or dry burn, or anything else except for filling the tank until it falls over dead,,, So far this has been going just fine for 2 weeks now (but that's not very long yet). I will find out (one day) how long this approach lasts. but I don't like monkeying around with the stuff all the time. I got 5 months on my 510 attys with this same method and only lost one to cruded up coil. The other 4 still work fine. I'm happy with that, so if the C-E2s go anywhere near that long,,, cool. The thing I love about the C-E2s and a large clear tank is that the taste is the same, every time. No burnt taste, no flooded attys, no dripping, no cart filler,, just consistent taste, time after time.

Ya, I agree with the no fuss attys. I don't even recall loosing any in 19 months. I rotated many at the same time and have a few in the junk bag but they seemed to last forever. The ones I did loose were my fault from messing with them, so I just started leaving them alone. The CE2's are different for me tho, I hate the burnt taste. I only mess with them once a week, rotating several all week. I spend about 15 minutes cleaning all of them. I'n ok with that due to the excellent performance.

Changing the color of the tube doesn't fix anything. The syringe out performs these because of the size not the color, I'll stick to my syringe until they make it bigger!

I think they already said the e2v4 are the final version. Maybe they'll make a final final version.

Could be they create an e3 next time round too.

I got some regular E2 R4's in the other day and I like them but I kept getting a mouth full of juice once in a while for no apparent reason so I just did one of these syringe mods using a BD syringe.
A couple observations while doing this. After pealing off the black tape around the E2 I found that the bottom of the steel had been split during the manufacturing process when they swedged it into the threaded connector. It did have a slight amount of seepage but I figured I was going to cover it with the syringe anyhow so what the hell. lol The other more alarming thing I found was that the ceramic cup slides up and down on the center air tube. Is this normal??? It kinda messes you up when you go to put the plug back on cause it then slides down a little when trying to seat the plug. (by "plug" I mean the part with the 2 little syringe holes for filling.)
Anyhow... I love this mod due to being able to see the juice level. It's friggin amazing to see how fast this thing gets drained down! I have not yet played around with the PTB with it yet because it seems to keep up with me as it is. But the annoying part still exist... It's still spitting juice in my mouth once in a while and even though I can see inside, I still can figure out why this is happening. I cut the syringe about the same length as the standard steel tube and have about an 1/8" "vapor chamber".

Anyone have an answer for this?

It may be condensation forming in the "vapor chamber". Some juice is worse about this than others.

I think you might be right br. I have noticed that it looks like clear juice even though what I am vapping is a dark juice.

Storm, I have cleaned it with a towel like you suggested and there is no sign of juice in the cup. I'm trying a drip tip on it now and I think this might solve this problem. It looks pretty cool too! lol

What about that cup sliding up and down on the center air tube. Is this normal???

Many of them do that. The black shrink tubing is supposed to seal it tightly to the metal tube, but a lot of them are loose. If it doesn't leak when the liquid level is above that point, then you are in good shape.

I've been cutting blue foam (one layer) to the size of the tube and it helps a great deal. Just slide it down too the fill ring. I normally cut my tubes long though and there is plenty of head space.

Thanks Stormi,
I have been out of the loop for awhile and had not seen these until I saw your thread. I have been using mostly a tube fed 4081 mod since spring. I got some of these from Hoogie today and this is sweet!!
I like the nice light draw so I can use my auto batts again! I just have to get out of the habit of laying it flat.
I used a 4081 cart plug as a coupler for a 801 whistle tip until I find something to fit a 901 tip to it.
It is a juice hog though. I think I will have to cut my mg's down a bit. Great to be able to see the juice!
Thanks again!
