I had gotten a 510 just last month from Widow's, and it really kicked ..... Awesome amount of vapor, throat hit everything! Then my husband got me one last week from electronicstix and it doesn't even seem like the same model. It even takes primer puffs to get it going and the vapor is still usually less than my 4075s. They are like night and day.

I was hoping the atomizers just needed to be broken in, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I know of quite a few people who just bought 510s from all different stores. They are having the same problems but don't have an older one to compare it to. They are quickly going back to 4075/901 models as they are easier to work and have at least as good vapor. I've read some posts here where people are wondering where the promised throat hit is on their new 510s. I'm starting to think that the entire run may have changed for the worse, and I REALLY hope it gets fixed ASAP. The 510 quickly became my favorite. My older atomizer still is, but I'm finding myself conserving its use for when I really want a good vape because the new ones just do not compare.

I'm having the exact same disappointing experience on a new 510 with manual battery. I've tried every combination of batteries and atomizers, spent several day smore than breaking in the atomizer and even trying many different techniques.

The result was always the same - minimal to weak vapor, no throat hit and to get any real vapor I have to prime the atomizer much more than with my 901/4075 or 306a. By the time it's primed and producing and real vapor it becomes too hot to comfortably hold.

I dont know if it will work for all of the atomizers out there, but I also got a set that seemed to be a little weak, and they also seemed to produce a "dryer" vape then my others. So, I did a nice vape session of straight dripping on those atomizer, couple hours on each. I would drip a drop or two, vape till it slightly started to get weak, and then drip again. Now, they seem to be working better then my others.
Dont know if this was just luck or what, and I dont recommend this if you are concerned about the lifetime of your atomizers, but if you are going to be buying more, it might be worth a try?

Maybe i'm reading this wrong but if you've tried every combination of batteries and atomizers, what's left?

are you saying you got several bad 510's or you just don't like 510's at all?

confused

All mine are manual batteries, oh and I've tried on a manual passthrough as well. I've tried all the atomizers with all the batteries from the 2 kits. The newer atomizers are the only ones having trouble and they have it no matter which power souce I use.

Thanks so much for the input Kreel, but don't you think that since I had just explained that my OTHER 510 atomizers work fabulously, that I just might know how to use them properly? Or are you saying the new atomizer are so very different than the ones from last month that I need to learn an entirely new method for what should be the SOME EXACT MODEL?

I'm saying that I LOVED the 510. It became my very favorite within days of getting it. I"m also saying that vaping those favorites in no way resembles vaping the new atomizers even though I have been using them for a days hoping they'll break in, but all they do is make vaping hard work.

Since other people who purchased at the same time but at different vendors are reporting blah vapor and no throat hit, it really seems like they changed something in the later run.

I'm saying that I'm terribly disappointed that my favorite ecig is only going to last through the life of those 2 older atomizers because the newer ones are not even remotely in the same class.

My first 510 came from Jason Electronicstix.com and it did have substandard atomizers. I didn't know how bad they were until I got my second 510 from the Widow. Of course by then the warranty had expired. I have purchased 2 replacement atomizers from Jason and they were a whole lot better than the 2 that came with the kit. If it isn't too late, contact Jason and he should swap them out. There seems to be a quality control issue with Joye.

I wouldn't give up hope and say that all the newer atomizers are bad, and I'm not sure how we could define what 'newer' is anyway. I don't doubt that you are having some issues with yours, but I've bought ones from different sources recently and am not experiencing problems. Still the same ol' 510 I'm used to.

The quality control on all of this stuff leaves something to be desired so I wouldn't be surprised at all if sometimes there are batches of atomizers that don't work that well. But to say 'all' the newer ones out there are bad probably isn't a fair assumption to make or something to worry about.

Have you asked for replacements for your atomizers ? Have you tried different batteries with the atomizers that aren't working well?

I apologize. I misread your original post and thought your hubby bought one for himself, not another one for you. You obviously know how to vape, but so many new to vaping can't seem to get over the curve for some reason. From what I've read the atomizers are still being upgraded at the Joye factory. This could mean that some older models are still on the market, and although my older models are okay, I experienced a couple that weren't as good as the newer ones I've purchased. They DID break in and proved satisfactory, but it took a bit longer (like a week instead of a day or two). I also noticed that the earlier ones tended to flood a little easier and required a bit more maintenance (blowing out/draining/etc).

I have a couple newer attys that I just leave on the unit all the time. No blow outs or drains (yet), but I leave them horizontally suspended at night. Nearly a month with no problems yet. Knock on wood.
