The one from Widow's Beadshop was her previous batch, ordered on 5/4 right before she ran out. They have no LEDs and there's a tiny stamp on the top of the batteries which I can't quite make out.

The new kit was ordered on 5/23 from Electronicstix. Probably the first day or so he listed them. It's the new ones with the purple LEDs. No stamp on either atomizer or battery and the buttons on the batteries stick out way further than the older, no LED ones.

I can't see returning them. They work about as well as I'd expect a 901 to work. Though having to do major primer puffs on a manual battery makes that much more annoying.

So its buyer beware. I thought I was ordering one with the type of performance I had previously experienced from that same model, but it's not like the seller claimed it provided awesome vapor and throat hit. I regret most having told my friends about the awesome performance and throat hit because they bought their 510s expecting that and did not receive it.

if you looked at this entry I was quoting strell (not you)and asking for clarification.

Sorry Happily.

Strell got only the one 510 kit, and it has the same performance of my newer ones. He told me he was going back to the 4075/901 models. I regret that my recommendation was one of those which convinced him to try the 510. :(

Thanks, Sunshyn.

Yeah, that is the worst... telling your friends and then it turning out to be quite different than what you said it would be like. Major bummer.

The atomizers I've had have all performed differently too. I didn't know what to expect either though really. The 510 is my first PV. I thought I had the proper handling down, but I just learned something new today. Hopefully I can expect longer atomizer life now??? Hopefully! as I've been through 6 attys in 2 1/2 weeks... talk about major disappointment!

(In case anyone is curious what I learned today, it is: " Always pull slowly (3 to 5 times pulling) and let the atomizer rest in between for at least 3 minutes. Over consuming your E-cigarette will lead to malfunctions. If you wish to inhale more or more frequently it is advised to use 2 sets of E-cigarettes at the alternatively.")

I just got some new ones today and right now they are performing wonderfully! Knock on wood!

Best Wishes for your luck on ALL your future attys!

As a 510 vapor I can assure you that you don't need to wait 3 minutes between drags as I certainly don't! Really, the most important thing is to not let your atomizer dry up. The minute you see the vapor decreasing noticeably or you start getting a funky taste, top off your cart and/or drip directly on the atomizer if you are using a manual battery. That's really all you have to do. You will be surprised to learn how long these atomizers last if you follow that one simple rule !

Hi RSL,

I absolutely LUV having a very moist cart. It's never ever been dry. Tend to flood the atty more than run it dry, but don't do that as much anymore either. Still happens upon occasion though.

I sincerely appreciate your tips, but I am going to try this having two complete cigs to drag on and see if that makes any difference in the atty longevity. If this doesn't work... well, I may just go back completely to analogs. Which I don't wanna do! Yet, I can't keep throwing money at this either. If we were flush, it wouldn't be so much a concern, but things happen that make having to watch every penny necessary and this was supposed to be a way to cut down the costs of smoking... hasn't yet!

Also, I really didn't want to have any analogs ever again and then the repeated malfunctions and I was smoking them again. The first analog I had after starting this vaping, I literally gagged on it.

After this method, I don't know what else I can do differently to have a dependable vaper.

The only mod I have made to my 510 and I suggest it for everyone, is the straw in the cart. Instead of trying to explain it all here you can read up on it via this thread:

RSL,

Yes. That is a marvelous mod. I've been using it since day two of using the PV.

Oh, I did want to mention... about keeping the atty moist... except for the first or second draw on a new atty, I've never even tasted or smelled that horrid taste that peeps complain about. So, from what I have read, that is a pretty good indication that my carts are moist enough.

Thanks again!

I agree 100% with that statement.

Trapped within my imagination
It's not just sunshyn,

I ordered my first 2 510 kits from eastmall on the 18th of may..And a pass thru from the widow on the 19th..Its my fault that I didn't test everything out asap....However,I charged the batteries as per directions...I set up both ecigs from one case...One atty crackled( as i have read they do) but produced less vape then my 901 and tasted completely burnt ( yes atty and cart were moist and kept moist)..I noticed the wic was slightly off center and gently nudged it ( as I have also read to do)..It did start producing more vape but, continued to taste burnt......Second e-cig-atty- barely makes any noise..produces poor vapor..However no burnt taste...
I put the one producing the best vape in the PCC to top off..Worked good= better vape, also still tasted burnt..I took that atty and set it on the half dead shelve( not worth trouble shooting and possibly ruining batts ect anymore...
I then put the "non noisy, minimal vape, no burnt taste atty" On the passthru which is connected to my kensington..Could barely see any vape at all on the PT..I checked to see if the battery was in backwards, nope..Not knowing a lot about the inline battery PT's..I figure maybe the little battery needs to charge...So I left it on the kensington for the afternoon..I came back my kensington is completely drained ( from a full charge - well hopefully its just drained and not dead lol)

I'm tossing both attys and the PT out..I have some other attys I had gotten from the widow..I'm going to start over, cause im persistant like that...And I know and trust too manys opinions on the forum to not know this DOES work...
Although, this is very frustrating....I had heard such great things about long atty life with the 510..Which is why I got it more then the rumors of great vapor...I have 4 different kinds of e-cigs and a mod...I know how to trouble shoot... but d*yyyum..lol

So yes, Im way open to any and all suggestions..I have 2 more PT's coming and am afraid to even try them lol....Thanks guys.......Ivy

Razor, (Can I call you Razor for short? :))

It's weird, I'm a big 510 fan and my atomizers last forever and they just work great overall. I've never experienced a burnt taste, unless the atty was dry and they all produce a great throat hit and vapor. But I know that some other people are having issues like yours...

Anyway, I'm attaching a thread link which is quite long but the individual having issues with his 510 finally got them worked out. There is a lot of good advice from several 510 users which might help you out. Good luck!
