After initially starting vaping with Mistics, I'm somewhat disappointed with Bloogs and Volts. The draw of the mistic reminded me of a regualr cig, while vaping Bloogs and Volts is almost like sucking air. I think the reason is the vents all around the bottom of the catridge as well as the holes on the battery thread . That allows too much air to enter the filter. If the openings are indeed needed then how did the Mistics get around that problem ? More importantly, who else makes that type of battery/cart combo ? Thank you.

You're not the first to have this complaint.

The vent holes on the bottom of the cartomizers is needed to allow air flow to activate the automatic switch, especially on a "sealed" battery. Any other 808 system is going to have the same type of draw, because the vent holes have become universal on 808 equipment. If your Bloogs are unsealed, you could try grabbing some 901 cartomizers to see if that tightens the draw. If they are manual batteries, any 901 atomizer will work on them just fine since airflow is no longer needed to fire the atomizer. I've never used a true 901 system, so this is just speculation on my part. You could also try an actual 901 system, if your Bloog batteries are "sealed". Or you could keep using Mistics. They're available online and they are cheap as hell.

While 808 and 901 share the same thread type, they use a different means of air flow to operate the automatic switch. I'm beginning to think the Mistics are a 901 system with D2 threads rather than an actual 808 system.

Good luck.

Thanks for reply Johnnie
My batteries aren't sealed and they are automatic. I realize that airflow is neede to activate the switch, but on the Mistics as well as bloogs and Volts, there are already vents on the end cap (the "flame"). The carts on the mistics are flush with the battery and the air only enters thru the bottom of the battery. What I don't get is, since thats the set up on all 808s, why would the bloogs/volts need to have extra vents on the cart instead of making them screw in flush with the battery ? Of course one could just stick with Mistics, but I'd like to have other options just in case there's no Walmart nearby ))

Unless your Volts are rather old, they should be "sealed" As I said, that's why the air fllow vents on the bottom of the cartomizers. Check the center post on both your Bloog and Volt batteries. If they are solid, that means they are "sealed". The hole to allow air flow to reach and activate the switch has been moved to underneath of the threads. This helps prevents damage to the battery due to leaking atomizers. If they have a hole in the center of the post, then they are unsealed.

A 901 cartomizer has no vent holes on the bottom and should work on any unsealed 808 batteries. Your Mistic batteries are likewise unsealed and still use the old cartomizers which didn't have to allow for this issue. So it's either buy some more Mistic cartomizers to use or buy some 901 cartomizers for your unsealed batteries. 901 systems are all unsealed and the cartomizers don't allow for sealed batteries. I think 510 systems are unsealed as well.

The threads will fit just fine on the Volts. The Mistics are a D2 battery and work best with an adapter, although I'm not sure if the adapters have vent slots on them or not. This site has adapters for D2 batteries, though I've never used them. They also sell D2 cartomizers for your Mistic batteries.

Good luck.
