I used to love disk golf. Haven't played in 25 years or so. Even then we were not really serious...just out there with regular frisbees. Had a blast playing though.
I'm in Stillwater, OK and disc golf as often as possible. I would love to play some California courses. We just had two courses open here on Lake McMurtry that are top-notch. Rumors abound that they are going to become part of the PDGA circuit. We shall see.
Right by Holland, MI here. We have seen quite the boom in courses lately. Brewer park is PDGA but its a bit of a hike from my place and we just (2 weeks) had a new course open that getting some great reviews but I haven't made it out there yet.. I would love to play some of the Cali courses but like so many things, I have more dreams than time.
I used to play constantly when I lived in Richmond, VA. They had lots of gorgeous courses around the area. I haven't played in years. I miss it. If I still had all of my discs I'd probably start searching for courses. Probably loved fishing for discs in the lakes more than anything.
I'm glad that disc golf is becoming increasingly popular. More players means more money for courses. If any of you are ever in so cal, look me up and we will throw at my home course. It's the second oldest course in the world

Are you saying that you pay to play? The only courses I've played are free ones built on publicly owned land in NC and GA. I didn't know there was any other kind.
Last week was my first time playing while vaping! Love it. It sure beats trying to figure out what to do with your analog while you throw.
Also I don't always have to do the driving now since I was the only smoker.
Golden Gate park is the only CA course I've played. What a great trip it would be to play courses all the way down route 1.

Yeah it's def nice just throwing your mod in a pocket or in your bag when it's your turn to throw. There are a LOT of vape users at my local course, but not many enthusiasts.
