:mad:Just rcvd my e-cig 2 days ago from Mr E Cigarette.com and I am so confused by all of this. First off it bothers by lips, tongue and gums. Have any of you had these same issues? Next, I do not know what model number this is. From reading a lot on here the model number seems to be very critical. How do I find out what model mine is?Are filled cartridges inter-changeable with all models? I watched the video on dropping the juice into the cartridge, but when I pull my cart off it doesn't have a hole, it is just where you fit it onto the atomizer. Then I read about people putting stuffing into the carts..where and how and why? I'm soooo confused.....I appreciate your tutorial but it still didn't answer all my questions. Thanks folks for being out there to help.

Welcome linnie, at least you're here and that's a big step. I felt the same way and spent hours and hours reading and all it did was confuse me more. I finally gave up on the e-cig I bought at a store and bought the Joye 510 that many here rave about. Nothing made sense until I starting using that one and reading the threads on the 510.

I wish I could help you but all I can say is don't give up and keep reading and asking questions. Someone here will know the answers.

I think it makes a difference what and how much you drink while vaping...at least for me it does. I found that drinking unsugared Apple Juice (cheap at WM) helps my mouth and lips almost immediately :D. I try not to get juice in my mouth but haven't mastered that yet. When my batteries get low - it happens - so I try to change batteries before they run down (510 with standard batts  which I'll be upgrading soon). Also the apple juice doesn't interfere with the taste of the ejuice like some other types of drinks - I had to give up my flavored water because of this.

I'll let the more experienced deal with your other questions .

A newbie myself, I was really concerned that I would be confused by how to do all the stuff required to make this ecig thing work. If this one doesn't work for you, if you're not comfortable using it or if it's too complicated, I highly recommend the Vapor King. It's my first ecig, so I'm probably a little partial to it because of that, but it's only a 2-piece deal, and it's really easy to refill carts. In a week I've learned when my cart is burning out, how to refill them, all of it.

As for the tingling, that is definitely from getting nicotine in your mouth. Nicotine gums and patches tingle or burn. Make sure you're holding your ecig horizontally or pointing downward from your body, as in don't smoke laying on your back.

Hope that helps some!

Linnie, I went to the website and looked at your e-cig. It reminds me of my njoy npro. There must be a hole in the end that you put in your mouth for the vapor to come out, isn't there? Get a paper clip and straighten one end and put it into that hole and push. If it's like the npro, your cartridge filler is down in the end of that mouthpeice and you can poke it out with the paper clip. Now you can add more juice (do you have some?) and let it fall back down into the mouthpiece a little. When you reattach your mouthpiece to the rest of your ecig the atomizer will push it back down the rest of the way. The lip, tongue and gum "bothering".....is it eliquid getting on them leaking from the mouthpeice? That can be yucky and burn a little. Should go away as you vape the liquid down some. Wipe it off. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you everyone for a fast response. Dee5 your info really helped to clarify some things for me. The one I got is the brown one of the starter kits on Mr E cigarettes.com. It doesn't state a size or model number etc. I guess this is considered a 3 piece cig. No juice has been leaking out of the tip but my lips are sore and I haven't been using it that much yet. I certainly hope this whole experience gets better as smoking has ruined my marriage....

Thanks everyone for fast responses. Dee5 you really helped with describing putting in the juice, which I don't have yet, just the carts that came with the kit. The kit I got off of Mr E Cigarettes.com is the brown model starter kit. There isn't any size or model number listed. No juice has leaked out so I don't understand the sore lips/tongue.Thanks for the comment someone about the apple juice. This is so confusing and is not replacing the real thing for me yet. This has got to work as smoking has ruined my marriage....

Hi linnie. The sore lips, etc. could be a lot of things. I guess my hope is that it's just dehydration - which is normal when you start vaping. The worst it could be is an allergic reaction to the pg (propylene glycol) juice in your cart. If that's the case, you can switch to using vg (vegetable glyceride) which is readily available.

I haven't heard of Mr E Cigarette, so I can't comment on quality or anything else. BUT I can say that there are a lot of shoddy e-cigs out there.

Best advice I can give you is to go HERE and read it all. It the best resource for newbies that I've seen. While it won't address all your immediate concerns, it does contain a vast sum of knowledge.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

We have alot in common because smoking "was" affecting my marriage too. Like you, I am also highly motivated to make this work since my hubby quit smoking 3 years ago and has constantly been fed up with my inability to get off analogues. I tried lots of things to quit and this is the only thing that has worked. It hasn't been easy to get the equipment 501-dripping to work for me. I've read alot on this forum trying to learn as much as I can and appreciate all the support. I was a chain smoker until now...and I probably vape more due to the anxiety of all this. I've mixed my nico low enough so that I can keep busy vaping and get over the more psychological changes while keeping the craving from physical withdrawals to a minimum. So I haven't had one analogue since my quit date Dec 29th - a miracle for me.

Like you I am a noob and have had sore lips, mouth and tongue not related to ejuice leaking, or letting the equipment get too hot. For me, it is also not a problem with chapping due to loss of moisture - I use something on the outside of my lips to keep them from chapping. At least for me - this different because it is inside my mouth down where my saliva sits on the surface and it stays constantly wet. It is also not an allergic reaction to PG since I vape with VG. Perhaps by being such a heavy smoker, maybe the way I vape and hold it in my mouth creates more contact on the inside of my mouth - perhaps for example there may be a change in pH or something for some people that irritates the mouth inner membrane. All I know is the apple juice is immediate relief - the sores places are no longer there at all after a day of using apple juice. Weird but true.

All I know is that I support you and know how much is riding on being successful at this. I hope you get over all of your hurdles and keep making it one day at a time. As others have said just keep reading and researching and trying something else until you solve each problem. Just don't ever give up....;)

I would take the cart off and blow it out real goon cause it does sound like your getting nic liquid in your mouth. It's a learning thing we all had to go through, some worse time that others. Also try taking slow, long, easy puffs on it so you don't pull the juice out into your mouth. Good luck and please stick with it.

A couple of other things I found that helped...when you reload the cart put it on the atty and let it sit for a minute horizontal on the table. Don't try to use it right away. If you have a 510 you can adjust the atty so it pulls in some air by not tightening it up all the way. Dont let your battery get too close to quitting - that seems to be when I'd get a slug of juice.

If all else fails and you get some juice in the mouth drink something right away to wash the juice out. Then blow out the cart/atty and start fresh. It might waste some juice but is worth it.

Took me almost a month to get it going but now I'm doing good. Don't give up and keep reading until you find the answer.
