Vapopotamus (Greg) brought up VapeFest (9/16 and 9/17/2011) in another thread, so I figured it would be good to discuss it here. Here is Greg's post on the event:
If 2 or more people share a room, it wouldn't be horrible. Oh wait, it's only $59 Wed and Thursday and it is $119 per night for Friday and Saturday. We'd probably all get there Friday early afternoon??? so Friday night and Saturday (or leave that evening???) or go home Sunday morning? Hmmm. Some choices to think about. Also, there is a ($30 if paid on line early) $40 at the door entry fee per person to consider (yikes) but it covers both days days. I think it is refundable if you don't go (email to make sure).
Wonder what a Motor home would cost to rent?
Might be worth (someone) checking out good prices on vans, bus tours to Vegas (could be really cheap) and the Imperial Palace and other cheapo places nearby (since we'd have transportation, we wouldn't have to stay there. Of course, some of you could really cheap out and draw straws for the beds and the losers can sleep on the floor if you bring a sleeping bag/pillow. (Slumber party!!).
If anyone has connections to discounts on hotels, if you own a RV (and would be willing to transport hooligans for a fee/gas), know someone that works for a car/RV rental place... let us know!
Care to head up research on this all Mr. Vapopotumus?

I know it is a month after the anniversary but Vegas Vapefest would be awesome if we could figure out how to rent a big van and get a group hotel room or something. I have no clue what kind of cost that would work out to and how many we would need. A vapefest Screams vaping?!
Ok did some light research - Rooms are 59.00+tax at the flamingo using group rate code a 12 passenger van would be 230.00 (19.17 pp) + there would be gas cost to consider. I don't know what taxes are in vegas. The van gets about 10/13 MPG Vegas is about 574 miles round trip. So if this is right and correct me if I am wrong 574miles / 10MPG = 57.4 Gas at a High estimate $4.00 per gallon = 229.60 (19.13pp) I guess this would be fairly pricey per person too.
