dissapointed with dripping... help!

hey all.

I started trying out dripping a few days ago and so far i am really underwhelmed. In my opinion i get no better taste than with my Kanger T3s and Vivi novas.

So from all that i've been reading i figure i must be doing something wrong.

This is my setup:
- Ego c-twists
- Joye 510 2.2 ohm atomizers (got 4 of these from vaporalley , so far used only 1)
- 510 to 510 extension
- 2 Empire mods dripshield (genuine not imported)
- several different drip tips

I use my ego twists at 3.8 to 4.0v
I dont get any leaking which i figure its thanks to the shield.
The flavor i get is average not great feels muted when compared to what i get out of my Kangers/Vivi Novas
I Get less vapor than on my Kangers/Vivi Novas
The Atomizer gets VERY hot, Even with the Dripshield i can feel the whole thing overheating even up to the metal drip tip.

What am i doing wrong here? I Drip several drops until i get an awful burnt taste and then i refill.


Help would be appreciated.

My guess is your coil has a hot spot, one part of the coil is heating up much much faster than the rest. I got 1 from vaporalley as well and have the same problem, i stopped using it now.

When my atty gets very hot I turn down the voltage. I also test the atty with an ohm reader to be sure of the ohms. They end up higher and lower in a range of 2.2 ohms or sometimes a wrong atty gets put in the supply bin. If your not getting enough vapor it is too wet. When it burns you should have stppoed hitting it the hit before where you might notice a little change in overall taste and the vapor production is better than average.

There are a lot of different dripping atties to choose from. While the normal Joye 510 is about the best atty to learn how to drip with IMO, it is by far not the best dripping atty (again IMO).
Taste is to subjective for anyone to say which atty is best, we can only say which one we like best.
Right now I'm using an A7 rba

That stands out to me... add more drops BEFORE you get the nasty burnt taste...

Takes some practice, but I can tell long before it burns... in fact I checked one time a couple weeks ago... I intentionally didn't add more liquid when I knew it was due...

I took 6 more big vapes before i got a burnt taste. The same burnt taste that was my cue to drip when i started dripping.
