So I ordered an EGO kit a couple of months ago. And was thrilled. Great battery life, 5 great cartos, and someone included a 6ml tank with my order, which became my mainstay for home.

So as the cartos and dual coil were winding down, I ordered a second kit (for the extra batteries and cartos), an extra tank, and some dual coils for the tanka.

Thus far, the two new batteries are good, but the first three new cartos are burnt, and the first of the dual coil replacements is burnt, too.

This is why I gave up three years ago and went back to analogs. At least with a cigarette, you light a match and you get what you expect.

I want consistency. Kudos for the battery effort, now can you please address the gotdang atomizers?

I will be contacting you for warranty replacements, Smilin.

Thanks

I don't think you are supposed to drink the juice :w00t:

What method do you use to fill the carto/tanks? Burning cartos doesn't necessarily mean that the cartos are bad.

Hi Harmony, I followed the commonly-known directions (not that V4L includes any.) Dripped the juice around (not in the center of) the wicking material, and let it sit for a while. Exactly as I did with the first batch I received.

Exactly the same as I did with the first five cartos and the first dual coil in the first tank. If you're going to tell me I need a hypodermic needle to fill the wicking material, then I'd rather go to rehab.

Contact Customer Service, we stand behind the product and will take care of you!

The Ego megacarts hold quite a bit of liquid. 5ml to be precise. That's roughly 100 drops out of one of our 30ml bottles. Any less on the first fill is likely to result in a burnt cart.

Tanks are notorious for burning when improperly filled and primed. I burned many myself when first learning how to fill them.

I see you are from Chicago...stop by the store in Northbrook if you ever get a chance!

Don't worry, I wasn't going to tell you that you need a syringe. That is my preferred method, but I am open minded enough to know that there are many other ways to fill a carto and a tank. It is strange that your tank didn't come with instructions though. All of mine have, I have about 20 tanks (I LOVE them!!). But I don't follow those directions anyway, I have my own methods.

Did you count how many drips you dropped? It takes a lot of drips to fill a tank carto as they are roughly 1.5ml. Did you do any "dry hits"? That is a very good way to ensure your carto is completely saturated. Dry hit meaning that you put your finger on the bottom of the carto, while it is removed from the battery but inserted in the tank, and hit it a couple times to make sure the juice starts flowing into the carto from the tank. If the juice isn't flowing then you can burn your carto. I use non-V4L juices that are primarily VG so they are thicker. I routinely have to dry hit my tanks mid-vape so that the carto is getting enough juice to keep from burning the carto. Thinner juices flow better. That is all info for the tank cartos. I have never used mega cartos so I don't know much about them. I have heard that you want to keep them "swampy" to avoid burning them though.

I am partial to the syringe method for carto filling. And thanks, Wader, for 5ml spec on mega cartos. I was wondering about the capacity. Another reason I like the syringe method: You *know* how much juice you've put in the carto. Besides, I feel pretty badass wielding that 18ga big honkin' needle. :2cool: DH calls my refill operation my "paraphenalia." :p

Consistency is what I had trouble with. Seems theres no such thing with them, but they are getting better though. You may want to try something like the mini vivi nova tank. They are easy to fill with a drip bottle. The new ce5 cartomizer style is another pretty good design. These units feature replaceable heads at 3 to 4 dollars a replacement. The mini vivi nova I got has good flavor, th, and holds 2 to 2.5ml of liquid. They're easy to clean too. They look good on an ego type battery, though I did get a "cone" to cover the threads and give it a more finished look.

I moved over to rebuildable atomizers. They tend to be a little complicated to setup, but once they are, they are great. Most people prefer not to worry about "building their own" so the nova tanks and ce5 style cartomizers are pretty hot right now.
