DIY assistance

Hey everybody, one of your hardy vapers checking in for some much needed advice. A couple weeks ago I started to attempt to mix my own e-juice, and it hasn't been going well. I've tried exclusive vg/pg amounts and what I mix just ends up tasting sour and... not right. Is there a tutorial document that could help me out there somewhere, like a 'DIY for dummies' pdf or something. From the base calculations I've made I can save even more money this way, but I just need to be pointed in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Oh yeah, 8 months no analogs!

Are you using a ejuice calculator? What % flavoring are you using? Did you take into consideration the nic base carrier(vg/pg) and what the flavor base is with your calculations?
I'm new to diy myself, those are all the problems I've had so far, just recently thought I could add a few more drops of flavor beyond what the calculator said, tasted awful, now I'm starting to use half the recommend flavor(some of them I have read are stronger/weaker than others) and just adding to taste

I'm no expert, just my 2c

My advice would be to check the DIY section and look for people using the same type of flavors your using and ask for advice as to how much they are using.

My own experience was that I started using Vapingzone's super concentrated flavoring. On the web site it said the standard was 2.5% for these flavors. Then I was using the ejuice calculator and you can input the percentage of flavor you want to use with the rest of the mix and the size. It then breaks the flavor down to how many ml or equivalent number of drops. The problem was that it was very hard to measure the small amounts needed and drops are different sizes depending on what they are coming out of. Then I found out that 12 drops of these flavors in a 10 ml bottle equaled 2.5%. Once I had that information it was much easier mixing juices that tasted good.

Hope this points you in the right direction.

Do some home work.
USE a juice calculator. I found this one and love it. eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator
Get the proper measuring equipment. A good dropper or better still Dropette Disposable Transfer Pipetes. I reuse them but clean before and after. A good graduated cylinder the small one in the 10ml is most helpful but i have a 50 and 100. May want a 3ml 10ml syringe with a blunt 14 ga tip. Read up nicotine is poison when you by bottles in the 30 and up range. Were eye protection and gloves. etc etc. There are sites that will custom mix just about anything you want if you don't want to do the diy homework.
