I guess I am not the only one to notice the TFA butterscotch to be not working. I am trying to get it to be like MTBaker. I went for 5%-20% in 5% increments and it is vapable but not butterscotch. 1 30ml bottle has been steeping for 2 weeks now and still no hint of butterscotch and is a 50/50 mix. Wondering if it could be the VG and PG I am using from RTS. Just going to try it from FW to see how theirs it. If I could get one to workit would be my only vape!

think they use fw

I have the TPA Butterscotch (haven't used it yet) and Lorann's and I can tell you just by smelling it that Lorann's is much stronger. Will be making some shortly. I will say that the Butter Rum from TPA is good. (smells stronger than the TFA BUtterscotch but tastes similar) I used the Butter Rum at 10% and it was plenty flavorful. Will report back on the Lorann's butterscotch but I'm thinking since you typically use their products to make candy, it should be a shoe in for a Butterscotch candy, right?

I got some butterscotch from RTS Vapes and I need to order some more already. My son loves that stuff. I mix 10% butterscotch with 5% Sweet Cream and use 50/50 on my pg vg mix. He goes through that stuff like you wouldn't believe. I think he's giving it to his buddies in the oilfield as quick as he goes through it.

All of you that don't like it send me your bottles, he'll vape it down quick, fast and in a hurry. :D

I thought I had read in the mtbakervapor thread that the flavorings were the same as the flavor shots and that it was suggested to just buy the flavoring instead of getting extra flavor shots so you can add them yourself. That way you can avoid adding too many flavor shots since you're trying it before adding.

I could be remembering wrong. But, they do seem to have flavorings that match all their juices, like Afternoon Delight and Thug Juice. You might try contacting them to ask, just to be sure.

I just mixed some MBV at 12% in a 70/30 base and gave it a quick hot water bath, must say is tasting pretty spot on right now with no other flavors or sweetners.......I'll never find out if it rippens with age.........:D hth! ;)

Butterscotch?

EDIT - brainfart, I thought I was in the MBV thread, not the BUTTERSCOTCH thread.

sure wish we could get close to COV or MVB.....I love butterscotch.....but all DIY have failed miserably !!!!!
Somebody has to be able to do it ?... come on you guys are all flavor chemists :)

Butterscotch is my ADV, ever since I tried COV's juice.

I have it pretty close - I am sure that COV uses NF butterscotch 3x, as sure as I can be without having their recipe. When researching this project I saw a post stating (via rumor or otherwise) that COV uses absurdly high amounts of flavoring; there seems to be merit to this, as that was the biggest 'secret' I discovered when developing my vape. My 'scotch is mixed at 50% flavoring, a 50/50 mix of NF butterscotch 3x & NF butter rum, with a dash of EM.

It is 90% the same - I think COV has a hint of something else in it, possibly caramel cream or cake batter. I say cake batter because COV 'scotch turns pitch black after a month or two, & that is the only flavoring I know of that would do that to that degree, which would also blend into a 'scotch recipe so subtly.

As for MBV, who I have not tried, it does make sense for them to sell flavorings for their juice - if it is a blend of flavorings, mixed as 'butterscotch', then the consumer is still dependent on MBV for that flavor, whether it be juice or concentrate. Probably easier for them to sell straight concentrate than to mix up our individual preference of base & nic anyway.

NF/COV 'scotch does have trace amounts of diacetyl. That is why it is so good. Interestingly, NF just put up a bunch of 'diacetyl free' versions of some flavorings in their coffee/tea section, though butterscotch is not among them last I checked. Maybe soon.

I am confused. MBV's Butterscotch is actually good?

A friend of mine had their Butterscotch tobacco and it smelled like melted plastic, Cheap Vodka, gasoline, and charred feces. Either they use different butterscotch in their BT or the tobacco ruined it. I don't know....

All I know is I was scared to even vape one puff of it.

The best Butterscotch juice I've tried is from High Desert Vapes. They included a sample of it in a purchase I made a while back and both my dad and I liked it so I recently got some more. However, overall I like Mt Baker's juices (so does my dad, we are both very picky) and they are said to use (as it's been stated) Flavor West for their flavorings. I thought I read somewhere that HDV did as well but I cannot confirm. What I can say is that I bought some FW Butterscotch and it smells identical to HDV completed Butterscotch juice.
I've tried a few different brands (TFA, Lorann's, Flavour Art) and out of all of them, FW smells the most genuine. Flavour Art, as the other poster indicated, is extremely weak. I have yet to make it work. FW I haven't tried yet as I am vaping the HDV juice I just bought
