Hi folks, im new to vaping still and recently quit smoking. I found a local vape shop and have been
happy with a flavor called 'mac maurier' which is supposed to be similar to DuMaurier in flavor.

I go through a 10ml bottle in about 2 days and am looking to make my own. What im curious about
is the flavors that are used to make a Canadian tobacco taste.

Has anybody tried a DIY and if so, what kind of tobacco base is best to start with? I havent tried any
tobacco flavors from the USA, is it a common base used in .CA? I want to avoid trial and error if possible.

Any recomendations? Also, is there any place to get bottles of nicotine for DIY? I see it on USA
websites but no shipping international.

Any and all help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Nicotine base is available from several Canadian vendors in varying strengths/prices. To name just a few;
Canvape.com, Allecigsolutions.com. Flavourings available also. I don't DIY myself, so sorry no advice there.

Appreciate it. Have you tried a USA based tobacco flavor? Im not a fan of American cigs but wonder if the e-juice is close to the Canadian flavor.
I have a few different juices I mix together, the only one I cant figure the flavor, nor find the concentrate is for Canadian Tobac...

Hopefully somebody will respond whos tried a few variations and also has a keen taste for DuMaurier lol. Im doing good with
the quit smoking, and need that taste replacement without the price tag..

Im currently paying 7.50 for 10ml and the local vendor I go to will be no longer stocking the ones I like.

Thanks again :)

A lot of people turning to vaping, are concerned about looking for an exact flavour replacement. I stopped looking for that holy grail very soon after I started. You are never going to replicate the exact flavour of burning tobacco in an e-juice and certainly not a certain brand of Canadian tobacco.
When I first started doing DIY, one of my favourites was a simple mix of RY4 with a bit of Dulce De Leche and a few drops of sweetener. This results in a sweeter juice then normal RY4 with a good vanilla hit. These days I like menthol and my current favourite is Orange menthol from Maple Leaf Vapes.
If you really must have a DuMaurier flavour, most of the Canadian vendors have something along those lines. Here is MLV's Du Mure Eh

Precisely as mentioned above. Finding a replica to combusted leaves and sticks is going to be almost impossible. The closest you will find is juices that taste how cigarettes smell. If you were to stick your nose in a carton, pack or bag of them that's what you are going to taste.

Something else to consider is that your taste buds are going to change. Perhaps even drastically. For myself I cannot even stand a single drag any longer as they have become their own deterrent. That effect is what led me to quit them in fact. After two days of vaping I couldn't stand the taste and would put out my cig after a couple of drags.

As I said, I don't DIY, but have found some (IMHO) good tobacco vapes at good prices. I usually vape tobaccos @18mg until around noon, then various non-tobacco flavours
@12mg for the rest of the day. You can get variations of Export, Players, Du M, Northern (#)7, etc. Bear in my mind they can taste different (sometimes very) from different vendors.

In early Feb I got some Dunhull (Dunhill) as a sample with my starter kit, loved it. It was Eliquid Canada - I then tried Flavourcrafters version, slightly different, very good.
These were at the price level you mentioned (about $7-8 for 10ml, $20 or so for 30ml). The last Dunhill I got was again slightly different, but still very good. A 100ml bottle, extensive choice of nic level,
and choice of PG/VG ratio, for $30 or so @ eastcoastvape.ca Their site is down for updates ATM, supposed to be back up today (Apr.30)

As a long time smoker that has been vaping since January, I have tried a number of tobacco flavors. So I understand what your after kinda. As others said, your never going to duplicate a cigarette flavor in vaping. However you can find a good replacement in juice. I changed brands of smokes a number of times over the years, you can and will get used to something else.

MLV du Mure Eh, i have it, it's a nice neutral tobacco. I would also suggest you sign up on Canvape, and try both "Play Hers" and "Muskoka Blend". They are priced well. You may have smoked a Players cig before and not like it, that does not mean you won't like Play Hers e-juice. It is worth trying both of them.
I smoked for over 30 years, these 3 are close to the flavor of a cigarette, imo.

Thanks guys... I guess I could have worded myself more accurately lol. I know im not going to get the same exact taste.
Perhaps more of a 'reminds me of' type thing would be a better way to put it.

I found a great combination of flavors that suit my cravings. My only issue and what I cant seem to find is a flavor in concentrate form
That resembles the ejuice ive been using called "MacMaurier". It tastes and smells like a fresh open pack of DuMaurier ciggs but a bit on the sweet side.

Again thanks for the links, I will try some samples, Im bound to hit a close and perhaps maybe even better taste. I just hate
buying and not liking, so far got 2 bottle in my drawer which I doubt I will revisit lol.

Never say never. My first try of Halo's Torque56 sent my taste buds screaming for the hills. I thought it was that bad. A month later, I was getting low on juice and still had that 30ml bottle sitting on the table. Gave it another shot and it had straightened up rather nicely after a month. Got even better with a wee bit of black cherry mixed in with it.

If you get a juice that just doesn't ring your bell, let it sit for a month or two then try it again. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Very true
I've had one or two bottles of juice that at first were blah so they were set aside.A month or so later I thought, well I bought it I may as well vape it and was surprised that the second time around I liked it.For the ones that still tasted rotton a drop or two of butterscotch usually helps.

Are you looking for the flavour, or just the sensation that you're used to? I wanted to stop using a $19/30mL store-branded DuM juice that I liked, and went through tons of flavours that I couldn't stand even with steeping. Turns out, I just needed the thick inhale and throat irritation, and now I'm content with unflavoured or JokeSmoke from Jugheads, both are $19/60mL. Unflavoured DIY would be even cheaper.
