Herro!

Just wanted to create an updated Capella's recipe thread with a bunch of recipes I've found through various sites... After creating two threads with no response I started searching the internet and found recipes scattered all around, along with the Capella DIY thread here. So I decided it would be nice to compile them all into one post. This is the most comprehensive list I could create and I did ONLY Capella flavor recipes. None of the recipe's contain flavors from any other vendor.

So far I've tried the Perpetua's Vanilla Custard and the Park Avenue Vanilla Cheesecake and they are both phenomenal! If you have any recipes that use ONLY Capella flavorings, throw them at me asap so I can edit them into this post
before that option goes away. I hope you find this thread useful

Note 1: I would experiment by adding ethyl maltol or sweeteners to bakery/coffee recipe's without and ethyl maltol or sweeteners at an initial strength of 2 drops per 10mL.

Note 2: Anywhere where there is a flavor that Capella has a V2 out, I would opt for the V2. (i.e. Vanilla Custard, Sugar Cookie, French Vanilla, etc.)

I'll post some as I mix some more...Lol...so many ideas, so little time, but you want cap only here? (Just to clarify since I use others too) I'll keep this thread in mind when I get other good mixes out of cap flavors only, you actually did get one of mine up already, thank you:) And you are off to a great start, lots of recipes..sure hope this can grow some, seems there used to be more Capella activity in past....Don't know where everyone went? I know there's a beetlejuice clone on reddit that I want to try out all Capella, just don't have the golden pineapple yet...

This is super awesome but so far I am rarely mixing just one vendors flavors. Capella's is by far my favorite as a noob mixer. I may try these an sub some other flavors I have figured out percentages on.

Definitely! Yes there are plenty tried and true recipes on here. Let me know what works out!

Yes please, Capella's flavorings only. If you have a recipe that uses other flavorings that has substitutes on the Capella site, then feel free to post that with the Capella substitutes. I'd like to keep this strictly Capella's. :) Thank you for helping!

I have several Capella flavors I absolutely could not mix without -- Vanilla Custard v2, Sweet Cream v2, and to some extent, Graham Cracker v2... but I mix them with flavors from TFA and Inawera. I've actually been thinking of starting a thread: "Mixed-Brand Recipes".

BTW, I also discovered that Capella's Sweet Cream is *excellent* to add to coffee when all you've got in the house is 2% milk -- it gives it that real cream taste! Without the fat and calories! :thumb:

Mixed up some all Capella yesterday since I'm "stuck" with my blueberry mixes, will post when I test them out....might be a couple of days...pralines and cream cheesecake, revisited my blueberry buckle/changed a %, raspberry vanilla cupcake, strawberry vanilla cupcake(different %'s than one listed in first post), peach-mango-cream blend, watermelon-raspberry-cream blend, hot cocoa w/ marshmallow

I gotta say, the vanilla cupcake seems to be a nice flavor, I also really like marshmallow and sweet cream also, the cinnamon Danish reminds me a LOT of a certain vendor's too

Well, after paying all the bills and buying all the groceries, I then went on a flavor-buying spree at Bullcity. :D

Got these 5 Capellas, thanks in part to this thread:

Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble
Cinnamon Danish Swirl V2
Hazelnut V2
New York Cheesecake
Sweet Cream
(already got Sweet Cream and used a lot of it -- great stuff!)

Plus these -- already almost finished my first bottles of the DX Bavarian Cream and the Shisha Strawberry -- both excellent! Plus a couple others I thought I'd try out:

Vanilla Bean Gelato-TFA
DX Bavarian Cream-TFA
Shisha Bilberry-INW
Shisha Strawberry-INW

Very nice! I'm actually in the process of making my own vanilla bean extract through a sort-of 'cold maceration' technique to use in my Vanilla and vanilla custard DIY's. I can't wait to see how it turns out! DIY'ing is just so much fun! Also have two batches of NET's in process as well. I can't wait until February!

Btdubs, happy new year everyone!

Curious to see how it turns out. I tried some vanilla bean early on and was unimpressed with my results. May have to revisit. I have yet to find a vanilla that knocks my socks off in the DIY flavor department. I still have some in a drawer may have to taste test it again. it has had a couple months to age

I like Cap very much but I wanted to let others know: Acetyl p., acetoin and diacetyl used to be big concerns to me. During this period I emailed Cap asking if they could tell me which of their flavors had these. They replied back that they were working on V2 versions that did not contain any. I then replied back asking if the V2 versions would really not contain any or if they would just contain a lower amount that is below the food regulated threshold - which means they could technically advertise they are "free" of these when in reality they are not.

To this they have not responded. So I bought some V2s and it's my opinion I can still smell that familiar acetyl p / acetoin aroma - however, more faint than before. Anyway. I've gone back to using the demonized ingredients with 0 negative impact to health and truly believe the PPM we absorb is so low it's silly. I like this thread and look forward to it growing but thought I should share my experience with others who may have *ketone concerns.

So, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

I like Cap marshmallow at 2-3% in just about anything. Anything higher and the bitter comes out.

Happy to help. I think it's their sugar cookie that does the same thing. Too much and it goes bitter. Don't quote me on that though - I THINK it's sugar cookie, might be cupcake, can't remember.

Right now I'm trying to get Creamsicle to cooperate. :vapor:

It's definitely sugar cookie! I've had the same thing with any juice mixed with sugar cookie at higher than 2%.
