let me know of the flavors you dont like...i am sure we can work out a deal and i will take them off your hands..lol
I have 202 different flavors, not counting duplicates. There may be a few that I missed logging.
I highly doubt I will spend time testing each and every one until I'm actually thinking about using them.
I sought out some advise from a knowledgeable experienced DIY'er about testing flavors, and plan to follow that method.
It will take longer to develop recipes but in the end will pay off. It will also help me to learn how to distinguish individual flavors that I taste in mixes. Hopefully. lol.
Some ppl can taste a juice and say yep, that's TPA Caramel (example) in there.

I'm testing Cap's Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Cap's Cinnamon Danish Swirl atm. :D
Cinnamon Danish Swirl was cloudy when I first mixed it, but is now clearing up after sitting & settling down.
Chocolate Fudge Brownie seems like it's going to be a low % flavor for my sweet spot. Final results still out.

lol. Far from having every flavor.

I got agitated early on when I would read a recipe and be lacking a ingredient. Went on a crazed buying trip, or two.

Now I look at all of them and feel kinda overwhelmed with them all staring at me. I hear them saying...Mix me...mix me! Oh the little voices in my head...if they start answering me someone call for help. LOL.

Haha same here . I started diyin a month ago (not even) and i got 60+ flavorings . It would seem everytime i look at a recipe i was missing something or heard of a better version of a flavoring . Theres still so many i need . I figure its a good investment to make all my juices expecially with the FDA about to start banning stuff . I just ordered another 500ml of nic from GP since they are having a great sale . Wish it was higher then 36mg though . That will go much faster then my normal 60mg .

I've posted my methods many times folks.

Feel free to copy 'n paste my PM if you like.

Thank you.

Here it is folks...per Hoosier

I start with my base, 0 nic if I'm looking to save some $, and add flavoring to the base. I'll actually make a few mixes with the same flavor at various percentages and try each one. Let's say I mixed flavoring X at 5% in one bottle, 10% in another, 15% in yet another, and 20% in the fourth bottle. Let's also say that I found the 5% way too light and the 20% too perfumey, but the 15% is kinda' close. I'd then take the 20% and 15% and mix them together. For this example, to keep my math simple, I put 2ml of the 20% and 3ml of the 15% in another bottle and have the new 17% mix tasting right. That is what I underline in my notes.

(The above can all be done in one bottle adding flavoring until it goes too far and then dilluting with base to get back to the level that works. I just use many bottles so I can clean up and then take notes of the tastes over a period of a few weeks.)

So, I have found one component of what I want to get now. Let's say that another one component of the combined flavor I'm going for is found to be 7% and the third flavor is 12%. I then mix those 3 together, the 7, the 12, and the 17 and start tasting. Some flavors will combine and enhance each other and those need to be pulled down. If I mixed 1/3 of 7% and 1/3 of 12% and 1/3 of 17% and find the 7% flavor and the 12% flavor enhance each other and drowned out the 17% flavor, then I might go back with a 1/2 of 17% and 1/4 of the other two to see if that works.

After all this mixing and remixing I find something that is working and I start deconstructing the result to make the recipe that I record. Then I will take the flavoring of this final recipe and put them in a 30ml bottle at the proper amounts and add in nicotine and base to complete it. I tweak this mix and refine the recipe and make a final record of the recipe.

This is how I plan to test flavors to develop full recipes.
I feel it will aide me in learning how to better layer flavors in a recipe, and also learn to distinguish individual flavors tastes. To develop my taste buds so to speak in the process. :D
Thank you Hoosier.

ETA: Now..back on topic.
I am anxious to taste this CFB. Forgot I have a company Christmas party and a birthday party tomorrow. It will be late tomorrow night before I can sit long enough to enjoy dripping some of it.

Wow i feel smart .I have been doing almost exactly that . I do find that to be the best and easiest way . Before even going that far though i will take like 6 3ml bottles and put 20 drops of pg/vg in each one than sit the bottles next to 6 flavors that i think will go with each other . I add a drop of the flavor to its corresponding bottle and keep repeating til i find the percentage sweet spot .

Drops - %
1 - 5
2 - 10
3 - 15
4 - 20
5 - 25

Now when i find out the sweet spot of each individual flavor i write it down with notes on taste and what they do from a low percent to a high percent .Next i will take part of one flavor and add it to the bottle that i think will go nice with it . Now after doing that i not only know how each flavor is in every aspect but i also get a idea of how they work with other flavors . Takes time but starting out in DIYing these methods we both mentioned are a MUST to have any idea what your doing . Iv noticed before i started doing this all my mixes tasted like crap and now all the ones i make after doing it are all vapeable if not great .

Lol, I knew you were talking about Hoosier. He's always got great tips and advice, and is funny to boot! :D  Hoosier ;)

I don't dare count how many flavors I have, but if I had to guess I'd say somewhere between 80 and 100. Many of them thanks to CD! Also one of my :wub:s :D

Now that school's finished for this semester, I have time to experiment finally! : pulls on mad scientist hat: :D

I believe I have found my sweet spot for Capella Chocolate Fudge Brownie to be 5%.
I've added a drop of FA Coffee Espresso to it, and a drop of FA Cinnamon Ceylon to it...and letting it steep.
I love to enhance chocolate food recipes with a touch of coffee.
Testing continues....
:D

lol! Oh and no one give me the real life food recipe for this one, (the vapor will have to suffice as I can't fit into my jeans anymore dammit!) :D

Let me know if those jeans start getting too loose on ya again... I have a killer fudge-topped brownie recipe (of the chewable variety) I'll be happy to send you! :D

I have never used any of the Cappella flavorings and obviously must correct this oversight immediately. At the moment I'm trying to concoct a vapeable version of my fudge-topped brownie recipe, and I can tell from here it won't even be close. At this point though I'll settle for 'passable'. I have TFA double chocolate and several other flavors I expect will be needed, but no pastry flavors of any sort so I'm trying a trick I fully expect will end in a minor disaster: I toasted a bit of pie crust, ground it up, put it in a #2 Melita coffee filter & poured a little boiling water over it. This process will no doubt require several repetitions but i'm retired & can get away with it. Still, I expect the final result will be pretty vile. Just wondering though, has anyone else ever experimented with any such foolishness, and if so, to what end? Thanks! ;D

Mind sharing that sought out advise ? Caps CDS is one of my fav flavorings so far . Perfect cinnamon and danish flavor in it .The exhale is like a fresh cheese danish .

I LOATHE all the chocolate flavs I've tried so far but this one...excellent!! Tastes exactly like a chocolate brownie (at 5% for ME) and I could swear I almost get a hint of walnuts as well... So far there's not been a single Capellas flavor though that hasn't been spot on for me.

Str8, didn't you say you were getting a 'grassy' flavor from the CDS in another thread? And that you weren't sure you liked it? I thought that was you....? Just got my CDS today along with 5 more and can't wait to try it!

Yikes, you're braver than I!
I've made some KILLER extractions using coffee (freshly ground beans), tea and cocoa in PG...water I wouldn't think would be good :( First of all there's the spoilage factor, and with the pie crust there's shortning....yikes!

Hahahahaaaa... I'd say "brave" is much too strong a word... let's try "foolish"! I'd actually have tried this with PGA but what I hadn't already drank got poured out (for my own protection, which was a good idea). It didn't occur to me to try it with PG, that probably would have been better. As to spoilage though I'm not too concerned; I'm making about a half a shot glass full of whatever the concoction turns out to be so it'll probably be gone by tomorrow, one way or the other. And I have no sense of smell so unless it is gruesomely bitter, sweet, sour, salty, or MSG-flavored I'll vape it anyway. Unfortunately my favorite guinea pig is in the hospital today for pre-op so I won't be able to get an unbiased opinion about it, but she's a right fussy critter anyway so I'm not entirely sure I should consider her opinions entirely 'unbiased'.

I'm about to heat/pour the drippings for the 4th time so we'll see what happens... only need a very few drops for this, if any, but wanted to have it around to play with. And I GOTTA get an order in for some Cappella flavors! Thanks folks!

Those aren't vapeable ingredients and you'll ruin your equipment and possibly your lungs. Most flavorings are made up of flavor molecules that mimic actual flavors.

Thanks for that info GoodDog, I hadn't considered that but I sure will now. Haven't added any of the "homemade toasted pie crust drippings" to anything yet and was hoping I wouldn't need to... you've convinced me I definitely won't need to badly enough to actually try it. Many thanks!
