DIY?? Cutting E-Liquid/ Get more for moneys worth

I am new to vaping but in my quest to find the best e-liquid for my all day vape I have noticed that a large number of vendors offer extra flavor. Some allow you to add flavor shots and others allow you to double or triple the flavor. I was wondering if I were to buy a bottle of say triple flavor would I be able to mix it with either PG/VG to make a larger batch of the regular strength flavor?? So if i bought a 10ml bottle of a triple flavor would i be able to make it into a 30ml bottle of normal e-juice?

so if i usually use between 12 and 18mg/ml nic in my juices what should i order to make something into a larger batch

You could order 24 mg double flavor for 12 mg finished juice
or
You could order 36 mg double flavor for 18 mg finished juice
Then, if you wanted, you could add equal quantities of the finished 12 mg and 18 mg to get 15 mg.
...sounds like you're close to DIY'ing juice. Once you find the right flavor it's relatively cheap and easy.

Thanks vapoor eyes er i have been vaping 70/30 and 80/20 PG/VG mix but was thinking of trying out some other ratios any suggestions? also what should i use to cut the liquid straight PG or VG or an unflavored mix?

You're welcome:
Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like - many of us believe PG to be a throat irritant.
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG.

You can buy PG and VG at the Pharmacy inexpensively- make sure it's USP. VG is in the First Aid Section near the Isopropyl and PG usually is special order. IF they ask about the PG tell them you making non allergenic soap for a friend or5 candles :D I've never had a hassle though.
If you have double flavor then you'll want to cut it with plain PG and VG.

alright ill have to keep looking into the whole diy so i can get started do you have any places that you like there flavoring from specific vendors or anything like that? but what i was talking about is maple leaf vapes sells there e-liquid and offers a triple flavor option and i have heard of people buying that and diluting it to make more juice have you ever heard or done that

Someplace like Tractor Supply company or another farming/ranching supply will usually have USP PG. It is used mixed into cattle feed so has to be out there for ranchers.

Most of the DIY type juice sites sell all the components separately. You may as well just mix it up yourself*. That's where you REALLY save some $$$$. You may have to get 100 mg nic. But it can be cut easily to something that's workable for you. Like vapooor said.

* (you WON'T get a vendor's recipe. So if a particular juice flavor is that important to you...get it from them in double or triple flavor 0 nic and use that as flavoring to cut the rest. Usually the 0 nic stuff is a little less expensive.)

Unfortunately your best bet is to go to the DIY Forum:
DIY E-Liquid
Maple Leaf Vapes is in Canada has great flavors but shipping would be the killer IMO.
Best to find flavors you enjoy from a vendor and then order the flavors from them. Juices vary greatly from vendor to vendor even though they're close in name.
I would keep a close eye on these threads esp around holidays as they practically give the stuff away:

lol. Bah. I talk a good game there. But when it comes to DIY...I keep it simple. Lime. Vanilla. Some Tobacco flavorings. If I'm in a good mood...caramel tobacco flavoring. And if it comes out ...so-so...I vape it anyway.

Heck, I figure that since I smoked cigs for about 30 years...I can vape almost anything.

I just made a tobacco mix that my GF insisted smelled like CAT PEE. lol. Tasted OK.....

Meh. I've never gotten "caught up" on a vendor's flavor of anything. I admit that some are much better than I make. But I count the savings too.

I agree completely and have never bought anything on impulse or "fanfare". Sad when you see vapers buying something for $25 and a month later it's dropped to $15. Must be getting old but saving money without nickel and dimeing someone is a game for me= challenge...what a pitiful life I have

For the OP, if you are new to vaping, I'd stick with vendor juice a bit longer.

Then just take the plunge into the DIY world. It's really not difficult.

You can make juices that are similar to a vendors for about 25% of the cost. Some of the more complex flavors are hard to duplicate but I only get those occasionally anyway.

I agree completely with the_vape_nerd. Take your time and find some flavors that you really enjoy. Be careful though cuz what tastes good one week could be horrid the next week.

Remember too....you can always do BOTH. You can DIY and buy special blends from vendors for a "treat". Or just have DIY stuff around and cut the vendor recipes.

But the best savings is the 100% DIY and buying high-nic-to-be-cut.

There is a trick I use. Particularly for newbies...
Buy double strength nic base, and figure that you have to cut it in 1/2. You can either buy flavorings and do "recipes" or buy double strength flavored 0 nic from a vendor.

There's no math that way really. Pour 1/2 a bottle of the nic, fill the other 1/2 with flavoring that you purchased double strength. (OR you fill the top 1/2 of the bottle with flavoring and PG/VG to whatever ratio you use). There's math if you have to change the PG/VG ratio...say if the nic base is 100% PG. If you want to end up with 25 % VG, you have to top it off with 1/4 of the bottle VG and the rest flavorings + PG (so you'd want full strength flavorings for that).

Keeps it simple. It's easier than it sounds. And you can "eyeball" it.

I am planning on diving into the DIY soon myself. I figure since I am finding I like just plain fruit flavors it shouldn't be tough to come up with something I like. I mean take peach. Probably just a matter of which flavoring, how much of that flavoring and do I need to sweeten it any. Shouldn't be too hard.

Save the vendor juices you don't like and start experimenting. I always keep pg/vg/nic and a selection of flavors on hand for fixing purposes. I don't throw many things out. It is a great way to start working your way into diy. Some of the dekang juices make excellent tobacco bases once cut down and they are cheap. I don't have the anti china syndrome that a lot have. I vape what tastes good to me.
