Sounds delicious, but didn't turn out so well. I couldn't find a recommended percentage for the boysenberry in TFA thread, so I attempted to figure it out myself. The boysenberry overpowered everything and it turned out perfumey. Not too perfumey, but it's there.

I used Red Bird's trick to taste the flavor first. The boysenberry was awful, so I should have used less than 5%, but I like boysenberry, and I'm a rebel so I used 6%. lol

I think the waffle needs to be bumper up a notch, too. I can't taste it very well and the whipped cream is non-existent.

Here's what I did:

70/30 - 18mg

TFA Belgium Waffle 8%
TFA Boysenberry 6%
TFA Whipped Cream 4%
-------------------------------

I'll let it mellow out for a few days and give it another taste, but this is what I might try instead:

TFA Belgium Waffle 10%
TFA Boysenberry 4%
TFA Whipped Cream 5%
TFA Bavarian Cream 1%
TFA Sweetener 2%

Does that sound any better? I'd love it if someone were to jump in and tell me what to do.

I'm not a fan of TFA Waffle flavorings but I make a Pinelgian Waffle thats in my ADV rotation.

8% Capella WAFFLE
4% TFA Belgian Waffle (only use some of this in it because I have lots of it)
2% FA Pineapple

FA= Flavour Arts

I don't think just using TFA Waffle + TFA Belgian Waffle will taste as good......

You learn from the misses just as well from the "hits", LaWatusi. And make adjustments along the way.

Since its a mixer, go
1% on the boysenberry.
You don't want a single fruit flavor, you want it to waver a little. Add 1-2% of another fruit. Probably a berry.

Probably go 3% whipped cream and up the Bav cream to 3%

Turn the sweetener way down to 1%.
Let that steep a week, try it. If its not sweet enuf add more or add EM.

P.S. If you want to rebel, try less not more. More is not better!

You can fix less, you can't fix more.

Also, you need to remember "recommendations" are usually for SINGLE flavor mixes.

So if its recommended 5% for boysenberry that means ts the only flavor.
If you mix you need to turn everything down a notch so the flavors mix, like a harmony.

If you read waffle is 10% for a great taste, try your mix at 4-5% waffle, 1% boysenberry, 1-2% other berry. 3% bav cream and 3% whipped cream. 1% sweetener.

oh and add a couple drops real lemon juice. Just try it.
Then give the mix time to steep. I mean seriously.

"More" or "too much" flavoring CAN be fixed, but it may be difficult for a new mixer. You calculate how overflavored it is by gradually adding unflavored base to the BAD MIX (writing down the % of unflavored u just added) and vaping it. Little by little you add more unflavored until you have it where u expected it to be.

Its a PITA but hardly impossible.

Here's my take on a Recipe like this when someone says it didn't turn out well.

"Have you ever made a Pie or Cookies and forgot to add Sugar?"

You have to let it steep and yes, Waffle is going to be Easily Overpowered by All but a Very Subtle Fruit Flavor, but don't you think it also needs some Sweetener?

Most Food Flavorings are Not Meant to be Sweet. They are meant to be Flavor. If I add Boysenberry Flavoring to a Candy or a Cake mix, I still need to add Sugar else it tastes Bitter.

I approach DIY just like I approach Cooking.

But of course, Everyone's taste is Different. And with all DIY, YMMV.
