I was reading a thread about extracting coffee flavorings from ground coffee. After experimenting, I really enjoy making the flavor extracts. I am sure this has been covered but can not seem to find it. Have members of the forums experimented with making their own extracts. I am really looking at making some organic fruit extracts but no sure how to start. I have heard that they need to be cooked. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Here's a good thread on extracting coffee, which may give you some ideas: Coffee flavor?

I'd be interested in extracting other things as well. So far I've extracted coffee and cocoa with good results.

That is exactly where I started as well. Pretty good results with the coffee. I was hoping to get some info on making extracts from fruit. For example maybe taking a piece of watermellon, soaking it in PG, then put it through a coffee filter. I have heard that you may have to boil the fruit, not sure.
