I seem to be going to DIY and I want a tobacco flavor that is NOT an extract. The problem I have with extracts is I drip and extracts are much thicker than normal flavors and thus tend to clog up atomizers a LOT faster. The only extract that I have experience with is Tasty Vapor's tobacco Menthol and, much like coffee flavors, I could not get past 3 ML before he atty was clogged.

I am thus looking for non-extract tobacco flavors so, I was wondering if anyone knows if the tobacco flavors from the following companies are extracts or not..

* Flavor Art from Italy

* Hangson Premium Flavors

* The Flavor Apprentice

Thank you for any help!

I can tell you that while Hangsen reportedly extracts their tobacco they're nothing like homegrown extractions. They are pure and clean on coils; especially RY-1 which is the cleanest tobacco I've ever vaped in my soon to be four years of vaping. This thread opened me to these and I haven't looked back since.

I did have epic failures w/ the other companies you mentioned plus others and was ready to give up until I saw that thread.

I have several of the vaping zone super concentrated tobacco flavors and they are great.
Most are perfect around 2-3% and seem to vape clean for me.
I like my flavor very strong.
I put about 1% of the vzsc blended tobacco flavor in just about everything, as well as about 1% of the tfa pg based tobacco absolute.

Guys... many thanks for the responses!

I have been vaping for 3 years and I would say 90% of my vaping has been Puresmoker Silver Leaf Menthol and... PS just closed their doors (help!). I am sure I could find something pre-mixed out there that would be comparable (well, not that sure) but in any case, using the PS Flavor Shots, I had gotten my cost down to around $1.60 per 6 ml bottle and I don't think I could come close to that with pre-mixed (actually, with Tasty Vapor and their 'doublers' it is around $1.60 per 6 ml bottle also but their only tobacco is a major clogger).

So, the quest here.

Had picked up a couple of TFA tobaccos and got them yesterday and gave them a try and.... at least for me seemed like a disaster.

Read the referenced thread and... after some thought.... ordered the 3 Hangsen menthols and RY1 from RTS Vapes.

It is possible... that one of the menthols will completely replace the PS SLM. The SLM was a mint/menthol on top of a tobacco flavor (and I wasn't the only addict). That's why I ordered all three of them. Will have to see. Otherwise, I can always add menthol to RY1 or do something along those lines.

What's important on the Hangsen... only do 3% (or less) and that means 6-8 drops per 6 ml bottle. Then, you should let it steep a week. I used to mix up my SLM on a daily basis so I guess this is gonna have to change.

Thanks again for the help! I must say there that Hangsen, has a LOT of interesting tobacco flavors.

1) need a LOT of steeping before using after mixing
2) the RY4 is good
3) you have to err on the less is more side with these or the juice will be awful

HOw long did you steep? Minimum would be 2 weeks IMHO

Glad to have helped and sorry your main vape source closed, I read that somewhere else too. 3% is a good rule of thumb to start w/ for Hangsen tobacco's. Some find they need to add more, usually those who use a high VG %, but for me using PG one drop per/ml is perfect and a good place for you to start.

If you don't like the menthol's you ordered then yes, I'd make menthol drops from crystals and add that to RY-1 or another tobacco. Let us know how you do on your quest.

I didn't steep these at all (lol). I got the USA Type Premium, the RY4, and the DK Tobacco base (along with Bavarian Cream and Crem de Menthol). I mixed up a small batch (about 2 ml) of each at around 10%. The USA Type Premium was too strong and a bit harsh... while the others had almost no flavor at all.

So, IMO I should drop the first one to 5% (it also left an oder in the room), and mix up about 6 ML of each and let them steep for 1-2 weeks.

What do you think?

Thanks.

I only use 10% VG so I am gonna start with the 6 drops per 6 ML (I use plastic 6 ML bottles for dripping).

I get the impression that virtually ALL the Hangsen flavors are good... it's just a matter of taste as to what you might prefer. Someone mentioned that the Ice USA flavor was a mint-menthol so that is the one that to me has the most promise. But, I don't want the ash taste that is typical of cigarette smoke so that is why I went for the other two as well. It would be easy to add menthol to RY1 (I have the PG base menthol) but getting the mint right is gonna be difficult. It's just a guess but I think SLM used Ginger and Ginger is difficult to get out there in DIY flavors.

I dunno if others have tried them, but RTS sells these Chinese Tobacco flavors and I tried them and... tastes just like a cigarette (Kool, etc). But, that is not all that impressive, unless that is what you are looking for.

I haven't tried the USA Type yet, but the RY4 is good between 6-10%. DK I would start around 4%.
I find adding 1% of the diluted TFA Tobacco Absolute to all of the above does wonders.
I believe TFA now calls it Tobacco Blend on their website.
