I made a GVC Clone on 5/24.
Vanilla Custard
16.00% Vanilla Custard
3.00% Duice De Leche
1.00% French Vanilla Cream
Made 60ml 5/24/15 @12.00pm

I let it steep for a week as recommended and the color turned from yellow to a golden brown color. I vaped it and it tasted Flat... similar to a flat soda.. I did not use any sweetener a first but added 6 drops to a 30 ml bottle and it seemed to help out a bit. Has anyone else had this problem with any juice after steeping? If anyone could help me out I would much appreciate it.

We are all snowflakes and as such, our tastes are different. Grant's is good but middle of the road good these days. Just because the recipe says "do this blah blah" it's probably not going to be right for you. I've seen recipes that call for 40% flavor. I have never tried one that high but you may need more steeping time.

Sometimes to much of a flavor cancels it out, or actually weakens the flavor. I tried both the 15% and the 7.5% version and they were both "Meh".

Theres a recipe floating around here recently for a version of Suicide Bunny's The OB. Its a Vanilla Custard. I made a 10 ml sampler last week and it turned out a lot for flavorful than the Grants clone. If I can't find it, I have it in my recipe calculator on my tablet I'll post it up.

I forgot who made it so I don't know who to give credit to but it's delicious!

Here is one from here: Suicide Bunny Original Bunny Clone | Clone Recipes

  • 10% Vanilla Custard TFA
  • 7% Cake Batter CAP
  • 4% Sweet Cream TFA
  • 4% Bavarian Cream TFA
I am missing a few ingredients to try this one.

Do you know if there is anything I can substitute for the 7% Cake Batter?
I hate that flavouring, for me even at 1% there is a 'permanent marker pen' smell/taste, even after a couple days of open capped breathing (after 4 weeks steep) it is still detectable for me.

Yeah I think that was it! It's pretty tasty as far a vanilla custards go! I know what you mean Double Ewe, I feel the same way about cheesecake flavoring. It makes everything taste like salty cheese to me. If a recipe has it in there I just take it out!

Maybe try cupcake? TFA has a vanilla cupcake that's pretty good. At 7% though that may be to much vanilla...

The only way for me to describe it is it taste like a soda does after the fizz is gone.. Flat.I am wondering if the CAP Vanilla custard is bad, or the Dulce Da Leche is bad.. I cant quite put my finger on it. Maybe the PG or VG is contaminated. The is no life to the flavor at all.. it just taste dull. Mind you I just bout these flavors 2 weeks ago.

Are you using any heat in your steeping process? I've read others saying heat steeping does something to creams. I haven't experienced that, but I rarely heat steep my juices.

I also saw a guy in a vid - seemed pretty knowledgeable about flavors and mixing, he was showing how to mix, explaining why to use each flavor etc. - he said some creams just go bad. After watching that, I gathered all my cream flavors and put them in the fridge.

Yeah, Vanilla Cupcake sounds like a good bet, I will have to get some of that in my next spree. It should come in handy too, I have been wanting to make a cupcake flavour with orange TIC TAC frosting for a while now (using HICs Tic Tac recipe).
Oh my that sounds so so good. Yum

I am new to making juice and being on here. Can anyone help me on how to begin. I have my PG VG. I have some favors I don't know to do from that. Am I in the right place? Lol
When I started DIY (2 months ago) I just threw flavors together without enough research. 1 of my first 3 turned out good. I learned to find recipes first, then tweak to my taste buds or available flavors (some can be substituted, others... well, it depends lol). Haven't really made a "bad" batch since - some needed improvement but still they were ok.

I reticently did a similar GVC clone:
CAP Vanilla Custard V2 15%
TFA Duice De Leche 3%
Ethyl Maltol 1%

And I got a burnt taste, not exactly a dry hit burnt, more like vaping dust. I used several different attys, each with a new wick. I'd get about 3 seconds of a really nice custard flavor, then wham, burnt taste. And it didn't matter what wattage I set my Smok M80, I got the same flavor when I was as low ask I could fire. The sad thing is the first few seconds of a draw of the clone mix was wonderful.

Anyway, I mixed the Vanilla Custard 15% and Duice de Leche 3% seperatly., I found the burnt came from the Duice de Leche. I'm going to try the VC with some other flavors to see if I can get something similar. I've used the VC in some fruit mixes and they've been good.

When you put your cream flavors in the fridge, did that help preserve the flavor without it going bad? Also.. I was wondering about the DDD.. I had this little birdie in my head telling me that it might be the one flavor that is bad.. I was vaping on a Delta II and just bought the Kanger Nano. The flavor is sooo much better. It might be the delta coil that makes it taste funky as well. I could be wrong though.
