I just made a purchase of several flavors from ecigexpress after reading some reviews here and have a question. I saw they have a recipe book and saw a few that I wanted to try and purchased the flavors suggested. I did read that the recipes are based on zero nicotine base. My question is that upon adding the nicotine to my preferred strength will this affect the recipe. Secondly, several the flavors I purchased are PG based, since my nicotine is PG based should I take this into consideration when mixing. In other words, one recipe called Carmel Cappuccino has a flavor that concentrated and is suggested to use .1 ml, Probably just a drop, should I subtract this .1 from the PG I add to make a 50/50 blend and should it not matter, Same would go for the other flavors I assume?

Thanks all
Randy

CAUTION: Caramel Capp is VERY STRONG.

Put 1-2 drops in 10ml plain PG, as this is what you want to use as a base flavoring to add to final juice, and it will need to sit/steep for a week first.
Not really a good flavor for a beginner IMO.

Using a program like: eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator

Will help you figure it all out.

Is this your first time DIY?

Be very careful with that Nicotine, hope you read up on using it in the forums here.

Take it slow.

Others will be along to help out too.

Some nicotines alter flavor, some more than others, and some less than others. A select few do not alter flavor.

If you are set on having a specific PG/VG ratio, then yes, you must include all components. (Kinda' hard to have the numbers add up to 100% if you're not looking at 100% of the components.)

If 0.1ml = 1 drop, that means that 10 drops = 1ml. That's a huge drop. Might want to measure your drops. They can vary quite a bit and it depends on dropper design, dropper size, liquid viscosity, liquid temp, how quickly you squeeze, the angle you hold the dropper at, and a few others. Since flavorings, PG, and VG all have different viscosity, and different flavorings and VG's have different viscosity, if you're depending on drops to get a specific PG/VG ratio, it's best to know how many drops it takes to make a ml for your different stuff. (If a specific PG/VG ratio and exact flavoring level is not a real concern, it's not a problem as you can always replicate with drops.)

i am quite careful and have read tons regarding Nicotine. I use 100pg nic and dilute to either 24 or 18mg per Ejuice me UP and when first starting DIY I would double check by using a Nic tester to certain. Now that I'm confortable doing that I am branching out to other flavors. I intially started with just one flavor and all is well, I'm now moving up to 2 and more flavors, which is one reason for my question....

Hoosier..... I'm not sure you really read my post fully or looked at the Ecigexpress site on my example , The recipe is on their site and says .1ml for the cappuccino as it is concentrated, It is NOT ME measuring, Reread and view the recipe if you like. Thanks

The flavor is PG based so you count that towards your PG. Caramel Cap is strong so I would start with 1 drop per 10ml. If it's not strong enough you can add more (1 drop). It's easier to add more, than have to add more base because you overshot.

Nic can affect the taste, some Nic has a stronger taste, some no taste at all. Good luck!

Cheers,
Steve

PS I suggest downloading a juice calculator. I use E Juice me up.

Edit It looks like I repeated what Hoosier said. He is one of the wisest and most helpful people on ECF. Check out his blogs, full of excellent information!

Hi. Wanted to welcome you to ecf and the wonderful world of vaping and mixing. I started out trying to do all the calculation and extra aggravation but I have to be honest here.....I love just adding flavor to my unflavored nic juice. It is just so easy. I have been using the Vaping Zones gourmet and super concentrated flavorings with much success. I am talking just adding a few drops as opposed to ml's as in other flavorings. Nothing wrong with being a mixing sloth. As long as you are happy and I have been extremely happy. Good luck to you and happy mixing. :)
