well, seems inappropiate to post here but this is the only place I am allowed to post soo...here goes.

(background info, feel free to skip to the questions at the bottom)
i have been vaping for one year. after the usual vaperer intitaion of spending large amounts on money on ecigs that do not work we found a local supplier who hooked us up with some egos and taught us the joys of ejuice. for the past year we regularly and solely patronized this supplier. we spent about 20-50 bucks a week on supplies, a little less or equal to what we had been spending on rolling our own cigarettes. so we were happy with that.

recently we had noticed a HUGE increase in the amount of juice we were using. and not only that but our cartomizer life had decreased significantly as well. over the last month we had spent MORE than double what we had been spending on supplies. we talked with the our ejuice guy about it and turns out that he HAD been using mostly PG from China and then switched to 100% american VG. so we of course put two and two together and decided that we could no longer afford to keep buying our juice from this supplier.

we decided to give DIY a go. we had always wanted to try it but we were happy with the juice we had and had no real motivation to do it. no better motivator than the almighty dollar. well, we ordered some Nic juice, the only two flavors we ever vaped (graham cracker and irish cream) and some PG and VG.

the girlfriends irish cream is pretty dead on. i HATE irish cream and dont vape it ever so tasting mine compared to the kind we usually dealt with, i tasted no differerence. the girlfriend who always vapes it said it was perfect as well. so that went well.

my graham cracker however, purchased from vapor renu, smells just like a graham cracker in the bottle. but when mixed, just has this sweetness to it that my old stuff didn't have. it's too sweet, sickening sweet. i tried 5%, 10%, 20% and everything in between. just feels like something is missing.

so here are my questions:

1.why is my juice so much thinner. the juice we used to purchase from elixir, the PG based and the VG based, had an oily consistencey to it. mine does not. could it be that i need a larger nic base (mine now is 50), like if i used more vg and less nic juice say, 100mg nic juice?

2. is there another graham cracker flavor out there? i cant seem to find much on graham cracker. doesnt seem to be the most popular flavor.

3. does adding alcohol make a huge taste difference?

4. would a DIFFERENT nic base from a different supplier make a huge difference?

5. and my BIGGEST question, when we would buy our juice from the guy, he would make it right when we ordered it (we picked it up at his house, not mailed), and it would be almost clear, as time went on it would turn dark brown (the irish cream a deep deep red). but they alwasy started out clear. he said as air hits the juice it turns colors. well the juice we maake ourselves, the extracts are very dark and our juice immediatley turns very dark when we make them. even adding a very small insignificant amount of extract to the pg immediately turns it dark. WHAT the heck could he be using that i am missing totally. only thing i can think of is he has clear irish cream nd graham cracker extracts but i can t seem to find any info or evidence of this. ANY info would be greatly appreciated!

What percentage of VG are you using? The more VG you use the thicker the juice is going to be.

Not sure what brand of flavors you're using, but as dormouse said, try Perfumer's Apprentice flavors. I've heard that Capella makes good flavors as well.

When using alcohol it's such a small amount that it shouldn't change the taste all that much. It will however raise the throat hit level. I'm not sure the ratio because I don't use it, but be sure to ask in the DIY forum after you've posted 5 times before trying it. From what I understand, too much of it can cause fireworks.

Different nic base? Maybe, it may depend on the quality of the base you're using.

Again, no idea what brand of flavoring you're using, but I know most of Perfumer's Apprentice flavors are pale and only start coloring the liquid as it ages. For example, PA french vanilla is almost completely colorless and then turns the juice redish pink as it sits.

If you want to continue down the DIY road, my best suggestion is to read as much as you possibly can in the DIY forum. There's some really great info to be found over there.

thanks storm, just placed an order with perfumers apprentice. hopefully their graham cracker will give me the flavor i am looking for! as for the percentage of vg...well factoring in the amount in the nic juice plus with what i put in...well i really don't feel like doing the math but theorretically, i mean my suppliers PG was oilier than my homemade pg/vg. not necessarily thicker but oilier. like when i turned his bottle upside down there would be a few drops on the bottom that took awhile to drip down, mine turned upside down just sort of all falls at once to the tip...if that makes any sense. i dont know how important any of that is, i am hoping the new graham cracker falvoring doe sthe trick and i stop caring about the consistencey so much
