Hello all,
I have a mixing question. The question is that im trying to figure out the flavor mixture.
This is what im doing.
I have a
60mg/30ml bottle of nic
30ml. Of 50/50 pg/vg
4ml bottle of TFA flavoring
Useing 5ml bottle to mix all.

What it the % of flavoring do i start with?
Im seeing on the web 2%5%10%20%
I also heard doubling the flavoring does not mean it will make it more flavorful.
What would be best % starting point for flavor?

You can add more, but can't take it out - so you want to start at the lower end of recommended starting range.
But that varies by flavor - what flavor do you have there?
Also - to make sure you get your DIY right, including being able to choose the eventual PG/VG ratio (though your a little limited, not having them available separately), I HIGHLY recommend you use a calculator.
Try EJuiceMeUp, put in what you're starting with, and what you want (10% flavor, 5 ml final volume, starting with 60 mg nic, etc). And it tells you how many mls or drops to use.

Also, if you're not going to use a calculator, but want a recipe here, we need to know:
a) Is you nic in PG? or in PG/VG?
b) What nic strength do you want to vape?

Taking ONE GUESS, here's a recipe for 5 ml, 15% flavor, starting with 60 mg. Nic in 50/50 PG/VG, ending with 12 mg/ml strength:
1 ml Nic base
3.25 ml PG/VG (nonic)
.75 ml flavor
(You end up with 57.5 PG/42.5 VG ratio - you don't have flexibility to change that if you don't have PG and VG separate...)
(Also because of this, if your nic is in PG alone, you're going to end up with around 68/32)

I've been mixing for somewhere around 3 years and I have no idea either! Granted, if I had the flavoring in my own hand I could smell it and might have a clue just from that, but I'm not always right then either.

Im seeing on the web 2%5%10%20%
Yep. I have recipes that range from 0.35% to 35% total flavoring. The 2% to 20% range is more typical.

I also heard doubling the flavoring does not mean it will make it more flavorful.
Right. I cover some of that in my Flavoring Levels blog. (That "3" under my avatar, just to the right of "Blog Entries:" is the link to my blogs.)

Darn fine question. Since you have a TPA/TFA, you might want to check the thread near this one that is all about those flavorings and what other folks have found to work for them. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/336110-flavor-apprentice-flavoring-thread-146.html#post11267469

So, like everyone else wonders, I wonder the same...what flavoring do you have?

I also wonder how you're measuring your liquids.

Be sure to check back and let us know how things go for ya'.
