Ran out of Nude Nicotine's Nicotine Base 6mg/mL ❄ USP Pharma × 1, 500ml / 70% VG/30% PG - went to reorder and wanted to stock up for 5-10 years (in case vape ban craziness gets even worse, if possible). NN replied "The oxidation life on nicotine will only be fridge/freezer friendly for little over a year, so unfortunately you would be doing your nicotine a disservice by trying to have a stock that large for that amount of time" - this is totally contrary to what this DIY forum members' experiences are - why would they say this - and should I change vendors?

I vape 6mg juice at 5ml/day so would like to buy enough Nicotine Base and PG and VG to last 10 years which would be about 1 liter of 100mg base - correct?

Due to my ever increasing hand tremor, my fear is that I'd make a mess of things and lose too much product while trying DIY (no family nearby to help and friends hate that I vape, sigh). So I'm thinking a base much weaker than 100mg - maybe 36mg or 48mg nicotine base (limited freezer space now)? I'd also like the best, purest products (have ongoing stomach problems, sigh again).

What would be the best nicotine configuration I should buy to mix down to 6mg at 70VG 30PG the easiest way - and vendor recommendations (must be able to ship to CA)? Any help would be much appreciated (hopefully simple).

I can't tell you why NN would say that. I can tell you that I have NN 100mg Armor nicotine in my freezer. The recent bottle I pulled out is from 2015 and it is perfectly fine. Very clear and zero peppery smell. It is as potent as ever.

As you already know, many others on ECF have been storing nicotine for at least that long and longer. That info can be found in the following thread. You are likely familiar with it.

Here is the best calculator for figuring out how much nicotine you may require.

You would be better off buying 100mg nicotine.

UncleJunkle has a blog entry that lists the companies still selling/shipping nicotine.

See the entry for Delosi Labs (NicBase). There have been several ECF members who have purchased their nicotine and are happy with it.

However, if you've been happy with Nude Nicotine's nic... why change now?

ETA: I'm sorry to hear about your hand tremors. :(

If you mix by weight the tremors won't much of an issue if you decant your working bottle of nic into PET or LDPE dropper bottles. If you have any local shops the employees would probably help you decant the liter of nic into 240ml boston rounds. Then you can keep one in the fridge to fill the working dropper bottle. If you have a college nearby I'm sure you could hire a student to help out, they’re always looking for work that fits their class schedules.

Thanks Letitia, good suggestions.

So, would someone give me VERY specific info on how to DIY (or please lead me to a post where this is detailed). I currently pour the NN already mixed juice into a daily use 120ml dark glass bottle. If I buy 1 liter of a 100mg base, how much VG and PG should I buy to get a 70/30 VG/PG mix? And what size glass bottles would be best practice to mix into and store in a regular size food freezer? If necessary, am prepared to buy a separate small freezer for long term storage. Help please

Here is what the calculator at ELR (e-lquid-recipes . com) says for 120ml 70vg/30pg 6mg nic (using 100mg nic). Unflavored.

ECF doesn't allow links for ELR due to some things that went down some time back. Classy posted about it more than once, I forgot the details.

how much VG and PG should I buy to get a 70/30 VG/PG mix
Seeing as you use more VG, I would consider 2 or 3 gallons VG + 1 gallon PG.

And what size glass bottles would be best practice to mix into and store in a regular size food freezer?
I bought NN Armor nic in 120ml bottles. Didn't want anything bigger in my freezer.

For daily vaping I use 30ml and 15ml glass bottles with droppers.

Many on ECF have purchased small freezers for storing nicotine. I store my VG/PG in a dark cool area, a room in my basement.

It seems from the above, that you plan to mix the whole Liter of 100mg/mL nicotine base down to 6mg 70VG/30PG eliquid like you used to buy...and then store all of those 120mL bottles in a freezer for the longterm. Since you'd be using just 7.2mL of your Liter of nicotine base in each 120mL bottle, along with the plain PG and plain VG....that's a whole lot of bottles to buy, to mix, and to put in the freezer. It would make 138.8 120mL bottles of eliquid.

Most people who've stocked up on 100mg/mL nicotine base for the future...split each Liter up into 120ml or 240mL amber glass bottles with polycone lined caps, and put them in a freezer. They'll use 1 bottle at a time, as a "working bottle", to make their DIY as it's needed. Buying, using, or storing ALL of the gallons of plain VG and plain PG at once...wouldn't be necessary. Also, if you stored your Liter of 100mg/mL nic base in 120ml bottles in the freezer, you'd only need 8 120mL amber glass bottles with polycone lined caps, because each one can easily hold 125mLs with no problem.

Since you only vape 5mL of 6mg 70VG/30PG eliquid a day...from each 120mL bottle of nic base in your freezer [with 125mL actually in it] you'd be able to make 17.4 120mL bottles of your eliquid before that nic base bottle was empty. At 5mL vaped per day...that would last you 417 days.

The rest of your bottles of 100mg/mL nic base in your freezer...would be mixed with plain PG and plain VG the same way, as needed, over the coming years.
