Ok, definitely not going to be doing my own liquid in the immediate future, but its something I want to do eventually, I heard its a lot cheaper in long run. I was a biology major in college before I joined navy. So mixing things is not a hard concept for me lol. Any reading suggested? I read most of the stickies at the top. But a complete breakdown would be nice.
Thanks
Danny

If you have read all of the stickies and have the knowledge to safely handle nicotine and the basic understanding of how to use a calculator, mix the liquids, you are going to learn most things from experience IMO. You will find that you can read everyones opinions of how to mix, what to use, not use, etc but most if not all of those opinions may or may not match up to your likes and dislikes. The same as it is with vendor mixed juice when you see everyone just raving on a flavor only to order it to find it tastes like skunk juice to you lol

Thats my :2c:

Good luck :)

I am just really good at tinkering with things to find out how to make them better, thats why I thought DIY liquid would be perfect :) first major one I wanna tackle is a good tobacco juice. I have only tried a couple and didn't like any of them at all.

I am not a tobacco fan but tobaccos are hard to perfect. IMHO the best tobaccos out there right now and easiest to use are the Flavor Express Super Concentrated from Ecigexpress. They don't have that nasty weedy undertaste in the base that all of the others do. All of the others that I have tried have that undertaste and without a good base, you are not going to get good flavor.

Can someone give me a list of things I can start picking up now? Either pm me or leave it here :) after reading all the stickies, and all of hoosier's blogs, plus going through the diy section oh here. I download the juice me up calc and playing with that. With the exception of the safety of handling nicotine (that's no joke if you can't be serious with something that can truly kill you or people around you, then you have no business doing it.)

I am interested in doing a 70/30 pg vg blend. So I know ill need more pg than vg. And I plan on getting my nic as 48mg/ml pg based from mfs or wizard labs haven't decided yet, but what would be good amounts to start with?

I cannot stress this part enough, but get the breaktru calculator and play around with it some. Make sure you understand each and every field you are inputting data into. Once you figure this thing out, mixing juice becomes very easy.

As to the cost, figure it like this. You WILL have some upstart costs just like you did when you first started vaping and you bought your hardware, kits, cleaning supplies, etc. But after a few weeks or months, the costs are recouped as you are saving money. My wife was vaping a very simple peach juice from a vendor for about $16 per 60ml bottle, plus shipping. With DIY I'm able to make her that same bottle for about $3.50, no shipping. I do use the higher concentration nic (100 mg). If you are going to use that, please make sure you wear gloves and cut the nic base immediately. I cut it down to 25mg the day i receive it and then work from there. The only dangerous part is the cutting and i do that very carefully.

Ok, I would start with something lower than 60mg. 48 sounds about right. I find that the 100% PG base is best as it makes calculations easier on the whole with the calculator.

Get maybe 250ml of PG and 125 of the VG.

Get a few flavorings. One reason you may not want to go with Wizard right off the bat is that they sell their flavorings in glass vials and not dropper bottles. They are glass vials so you'll have to syringe out the flavorings. Wizard labs is a great vendor but i prefer dropper bottles so if you do too, get them elsewhere.

Get a 10ml graduated cylinder. Get some syringes, 1 ml, 3 ml, 5ml.

Get a small funnel if you can.

Get some empty bottles in various sizes unless you've got some empties laying around.

Even if you think you have enough, get additional syringes.

Get a few pairs of the nitrite gloves. Just for peace of mind.

Get a few pipettes. Last time I checked wizard was out of those. But try if you can.
