Hi everyone, I have a few DIY questions. I have read through many post but have not found the exact answers I am looking for.

Is there a calculator that helps determine what your ending PG/VG ratio will be. For instance I have 36mg 50/50 PG/VG. I am looking for a calculator that will tell me what measurements of PG/VG to use to get to certain ratio's. I have seen many calculators and maybe this is on them and I just dont know how to use them .?.? I so far have cut it to 18 and 12 mg nic using straight PG. My dad wants me to make him 4mg nic at 60vg/40pg and I can't seem to wrap my head around that.

That leads me to my second question... we both use tank's what is the best ratio to cut vg to pg consistancy? I know you can use alcohol or distilled water but am not sure how much to use per ml of vg.

I ordered my PG through a DIY website, I purchased NOW brand VG from a local health food store. I have read that several people use this brand but wanted some confirmation...it does say "The veg. glycerine contained IN this product is considered good grade" and says 100% pure VG/ versatile skin care. Is this the right stuff? I ask b/c I do not see anywhere on it that it says USP.

Second question ... "My dad wants me to make him 4mg nic at 60vg/40pg and I can't seem to wrap my head around that."
Answer: When using Dan's eJuice Calculator v13, it will tell you how to reduce the nic level, by you telling it what ratio's of pg/vg you want.

Example: Dad wants 10ml of 4mg of nic with a 60vg / 40pg ratio, and you have 50mg of nic that is pg based.
click on the pg calculator tab
In section 1, Base Pg nic % ... enter 50 (because that is the nic level you have on hand and are trying to reduce it to 4mg.
Target PG nic... enter 4
Amount to be made for recipe ... enter 10
Water/vodka/pga ... enter 0
VG ... enter 60
PG ... enter 40

The calculator will tell you how much of each product to use to obtain the results your father is asking. All he wants is a lower nic level with a 60/40 split of pg and vg.

Third question: "what is the best ratio to cut vg to pg consistancy?"
Answer: People's opinion vary. If you have to have vg with 0 pg start with 10% distilled water or pga. If you can cut vg with pg (which most people do) the average seems to be 70 - 90 percent pg and 30 to twenty percent vg.

OK so in looking at the calculator again, I see he has a version for PG nic base and VG nic base....but not one for a mix. I have 90 ml of 36 nic 50% pg/vg to use up and will have problems determining what my ending ratio's will be. Next time I will order PG nic, so I can use the calculator to figure it out.
