DIY with just PG and menthol crystals?

Obviously it would be 0 nic juice but do I need to add anything else to this? I've been very disappointed in the taste of the VG juice so I got some PG from the pharmacy and I have menthol crystals here.

I've been smoking analogs just to get that menthol hit which the sweetness of the VG seems to kill....

I'd like to know also. I purchased some flavorless VG and VG 36mg and menthol crystals. I put a thread in the newbie area and if I find out anything there, I'll let you know. They mention a good tobacco base to add it to or it tastes like Vicks Vapo-rub. 8-o

I'll have to check that out, yeah, I made some and it's decent but it is kind of like a mild vick's....hehe. It really took a LOT more of the menthol than I thought it would but I was mixing up 40ml worth. I wish I could buy some nic juice (plain) or tobacco base somewhere besides online. I'm still smoking about 1/2 a pack of analogs a day...just can't get away from wanting that taste. Plus the fact that what I mixed up is 0 nic so that's probably not helping...thanks for the heads up.

I did dissolve some crystals last night in water that I had just received and they aren't very soluble in water and a waxy substance separated out and I used the left over water and added one drop to my tobacco cartridges and I love it. But, I'm not sure if I didn't get some of that waxy stuff in my drop before it all separated and now I'm afraid that it will get on my atomizer and catch fire. I think I'll wait longer next time.

Others, like you, use the juice to dissolve it but I'm still left wondering about the waxy stuff. I am chemistry stupid so I don't know if it's dissolved whether or not it will still leave some of that substance on the atomizer. I think I'll just use what little menthol does dissolve in the water. But dissolved is dissolved I guess...as I said, chemistry stupid.

I know what you mean about the cigarettes. I still have 7 left and I don't want to buy anymore. I have a high nicotine content on my cartridges and juice (when I get it) so that helps. With this menthol taste, my cigarettes aren't near as mentholy(??) as my ecig.

Well, making menthol "drops" didn't work out very well. The stuff separated into liquid and either solid crystal or waxy stuff on the top, I didn't open it to see.

I did pick up some Lorann flavoring tonight. A four pack with cherry, peppermint, creme de menthe and I think there's one more. I don't have it in front of me.

Look up menthol on wiki, I believe that it doesn't readily dissolve in some things, mostly pg and glycerin...maybe you should try heating the bottle a bit to try and incorporate it? I'm not talking cooking or anything, but maybe a way to heat it...setting bottle in hot water? maybe that would work?

oh, technically speaking...if it doesn't readily dissolve in PG or VG and you dissolve it in water, when you add that water to the PG, won't it just come back out again no matter what? I don't know how to homogenize (sp?) things at home! lol. I have always been scared to buy menthol because of this. What would happen if you just took a fragment of the crystal and hid it in your cartridge? When I vape my mint I get a cool refreshing hit whether I pull power to the atomizer or not...you might get a decent hit with just a tiny fragment in the cart, just an idea.

It dissolves fairly readily just by warming the bottle in hot water but apparently when it cools it recrystalizes or something. Kind of makes you wonder what it's doing in your lungs. It is supposedly the same thing they use to make menthol tobacco though so I guess it's okay...
