dna200 (well 133 actually) noobie here. Just got a boxer 133 and am getting a 'check battery' error with a new set of 25R's...that error isnt listed in the DNA200 spec...???????

Assuming it was pre-configured but does escribe have 2-cell selected?

hi there bud! you will not be impressed when i tell you i havent linked it up to escribe yet but it is entirely possible that it wasnt pre-configured i guess...

Ok, I guess I need to get my macbook air up to speed with virtualbox etc before I can do anything!! I was just seeing if I could get it going without but clearly not in this case!

I see, IDK that much about the 200 yet myself. I can tell you I've had some flaky behavior with the device a few times and being unable to see a lot of the configuration on the device it's kind of hard to troubleshoot it without Escribe. There are also a few things you'll want to do right away that's dependent on Escribe, (Firmware update if avail, Set Preheat, Set Cell Type, Set Watt Hr.) and probably a few other things I'm not thinking of. Have you used it at all or did you receive it without batteries and put your first set in and received the error? If it was pre-configured but shipped to you without batteries possibly lost the config??? IDK just guessing.

Another thing to check, which may be a bit too obvious, would be the battery orientation in the mod, make sure you put them in correctly.

I put them in according to the +/- symbols on the mod casing....

you never know though and always worth checking

I think it is FUBARed...not even detected as a USB device by the mac let alone escribe...what a disappointment..

Have you tried another USB device on the same Windows setup or perhaps a friends Windows machine?
I suppose the Mac would detect it but not work with it I guess, don't know though.

Hi bud,

it was a mac issue that I fixed. So i have it talking nicely to escribe and it looks like one of the batt connectors isn't! 4.2V on cell 2 and 2.something on the other regardless of which batt is installed. Anyway, the chip is fine, just lost a solder joint or something. It happens! Thanks anyway for the suggestions

ps. Im surprised how easy it was to set it up on rthe mac with virtualbox. Works well.

man I wonder if my 510 connection is wonky or not.

got my TFV4 on my mod(kanthal tri coil) and looking at the resistance it always jumps between 0.217 and 0.216 or 0.218. Not sure if this is normal or not.

Even kanthal changes resistance, albeit very little, when heated. It's normal. Your good.

It is also normal for those pre made coil heads to vary resistance a bit simply due to their design of having long leads trapped between a pin and an insulator.

I have a couple hundred in credit at VaporDNA and just waiting (zzzz) for them to carry a DNA200 device. My Opus is perfect but I may be swayed to get a PSO DNA200 creation perhaps.

So I'm guessing escribe, or some form of it was used to program the DNA 40. So what did evolv set the 40's battery capacity to? It estimates the battery life like the 200, right? Except you can dial in your specific battery specs on the 200. Just a random thought from my brain.

@TheotherSteveS, you think you can post a pic of the the battery cover off and the internals with the battery sled removed? I can help you trouble shoot whether or not the wiring is ran properly. That's usually the main culprit to a defective dna 200 in dual 18650 mode. Also, is the battery meter visible when you power on your device without escribe?

Thnaks for the kind offer of assistance. I have already sent the thing back. Alex at esauce said he would have a look and if there was anything not straightforward, he would replace the entirel innards with fresh chip etc. It just arrived there about 10 mins ago so I should have some news soon. I'll find out what was worng with it hopefully and post back asap!
