I don't see myself vaping at 100 watts (much less 200). What I'm looking forward to is for the tech (which is primarily software) to trickle down to another, smaller board that can run on a single cell again. 50 watts is still double what I actually NEED. :2c:

I too don't need 100 watts, much less 200 either.... I've reset the device from a maximum default of 200 watts to just a default of 50 watts maximum (my new user set default), even though 200 is available, for my leisure use (and only change this when doing some ongoing testing).

We don't need 500hp cars....but they are sure fun to drive.
Yep, and every big car company has (at least) one in their lineup.

Before the DNA40 was released, people's main complaint with the DNA20/30 was a lack of reverse battery protection and step-down. The 40 gave them both, plus temperature limiting. Then they complained that the 40 wasn't flexible enough in supporting other wire types, and it wasn't up to snuff with the power output of Chinese boards. Addressing just one or the other wouldn't have been sufficient for a next generation product.

I wish people were more judgemental about the fact that we don't need 200W and that this compromise is making it a worse device. Maybe then they would come out sooner with a reasonable device.

What I need and what I want have long been two different things. With your attitude, you should run for a spot in your parliament lol.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. See, freedom, it's a good thing lol.

So you can set your max W output via the software?? Sounds like a winner. I can't ever see needing the full 200W myself either so being able to "set" the max limits sounds pretty cool.

Yep.... and the temperature also (and other things) ... if you want to....

Bickering is also a traditional pastime. Eh, something to do loll.
The best part about the bickering is every now and then we get the perfect marriage of arrogance and ignorance and the giggles brighten up a dreary day.

The discussion of how bad you can make things with a small coil and 200 watts seems to miss the point that it is designed for pushing the atomizer tech and builds a bit.

So how does the pre-heat work?

Retird hinted towards it being adjustable, but does that mean that the user has to connect it to their PC in order to use this option?

If so, the person that buys this device and owns a Mac (or no PC)...are they then stuck with the pre-heat default of the device?

And once connected to their PC, does the user have full control of the pre-heat?

Can it be deactivated altogether if the user is unsatisfied?

There's so many unanswered questions and virtually no real answers yet to very important topics regarding this new device, so peeps "in the know" should expect a bit of skepticism and criticism from the beta comments that have been disclosed...hm?

Piece-mealing info on a new product release seems like Evolv doesn't want us to know certain things about it or is trying to manipulate crowd response.

China does this as well...and we've all seen what lack of information prior to purchase 'usually' causes; confusion and disappointment.

Someone made a comment a day or two ago about how this thread became "stagnant".....it's not surprising why.

Questions are not being answered even though the information being requested is known.

They can only give us what info is allowed in their NDA. We will just have to make due till a proper release
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

I realize that, but the point is why is Evolv holding back certain facts?

It seems like they're piece-mealing facts in order to manipulate crowd response.

If a beta blows the release, why not just disclose everything all up front?

What point does it serve to piece-meal facts?

Fine if you want to keep the release date undisclosed, by why hide facts about the device itself?

Why not just come out and say, "Okay...this is it, this is what it does, this is what it'll do."

Adding in, "This is where we're at in beta, these are the known results so far.." etc. Answering questions immediately without betas having to bite their tongue.

And then schmidt-can the betas that leaked the release.
