Everything that's not a mech is technically disposable. Hell, all of these buttons were pressing to fire our devices have a lifespan. Also, there are places that replace cell phone batteries. No reason batteries on these can't be replaced.

I dunno...

I've got a custom made mini Hana DNA30 in my hand that I plan on lasting forever! :D

Just gotta replace a few parts every year or two (and have DNA's stocked) and this lil baby will never see a landfill...

that makes me curious, cuz its rumoured the dna200 board is like 80-100$, which leaves around 100-120$ left for the actual mod+battery, at the price range the two dna200 devices that were announced at.

That board price sounds about right. Probably less than $5 increase in parts costs over the DNA40. The rest is just how aggressively Evolv wants to get back their development dollars and where they want to position the board in the market.

If the DNA40 is $60, then an alleged DNA70 (or whatever mid power level is picked) could be $80 and the DNA200 could be close to $100. Marketing always likes two-digit prices though vs three-digit prices. :)

Umm...nevermind...my guesses were way off.

mah isnt different from 18650s to lipos right? the way I vape I go through 3 fully charged VTC4 (2100mah) a day, 40watt vaping. This is about 10ml a day.
In theory it's not different, but in actual use, vastly different, one 2000 mah lipo would last you the day. A lipo has a flatter output curve, where an imr drops off steeply beyond 3.6-3.7 volts

For the guys worried about power consumption at high wattages, you do realize you can use an external 12v power source right? A decent computer power supply (or whatever power supply you want to use) will allow unlimited vaping in a tethered mode without battery concerns. Obviously not for out and about vaping, you'll need batteries of some sort for that. But for at home or office vaping, plug it in and vape like a boss all day without worry. I'm trying to think of another device that has this feature available (besides the wonky Innokin DRV) that has this as a feature. Probably not a feature most will use, but just another feature to add to the checklist of features on the new chip. I can see setting this up for home use and probably will. While not really needed, pretty cool feature to include.

I can see a lot more hookah-style setups being built. :)

Well Mooch you beat me to the Hookah straight-line. :)

But I still want to know what folks are going to do with all the power? It is just beyond me unless you need to jump start your care.

Since Evolv now has the ability to update the software that will probably be a new feature they can add... car jump starter, lol.

Technically the Mah will remain the same, it's the watt-hours that will triple.

If in series mode technically you are right. But the point is the same, it will have the power density equivalent of 3 xMah cells. But the power availability is still 3 times a single cell. I think many are confused that the beta units are using 950Mah and are trying to understand how the mod is pushing 200watts for more than 10 minutes. So good point, and you are correct.

Preheats will be essentially instantaneous, but that's a lot of cost/size/battery for just that.
Imagine the 8-coil builds though!

from the opus200 page under the header 'Caution!"

'Do not keep Opus 200 in a hot car. Let cool down before use. Do not sustain high wattage vaping for more than 1 second bursts. Do not drop unit or otherwise mechanically abuse it. Internal battery may sustain damage.'

more than 1s bursts...lol! Presumably it pulse-fires at 200W anyway?!?!

Can anyone elaborate on this do not sustain high wattage for more than 1 second thing? Seems a little crazy to have a 200w mod that can only fire high wattages for 1 second.

Also I know its being said it need a 3s or 3 18650s but could this work with one or two 26650s like the 70amp ones mentioned earlier itt?

And one more thing 3s just means it has 3 cells right? So a 2s is two cells and so on. So a 1s is a single cell and basically the same thing as one 18650 and it needs either 3 lipo cells as in a 3s or 3 18650s. Am I understanding that correctly?

That's about how long it takes to set your juice on fire. I'm sure it can sustain 200 watts for longer.

    3 in series only

yes, also remember it has to be in series. It won't work with 3 18650s in parallel.

Quad coils. One can actually have a cool, super thick vape at 200 watts. Not for me, but some dig it.

Who says you have to breathe 200 watts in? so cool, effect machine/ room deodorizer etc etc lol.....

brilliant as it sounds many are going to need assistance and thats a good thing..
