Ok, I'm sitting here ready to pull the trigger on a preorder of board only. I see protovapor also has a preorder open. Any feedback on which vendor might be preferable to another?

Was surfing the web and ran across this. May be of interest as you can take the information selected here and place it in the software and upload to the device as a profile . May be a good resource when wanting to use custom wires (other than Nickel 200).

NOTE: This is a "Beta Version"

Lowest resistance on TC mode only goes down to 0.10ohm??

Might still fire lower. My DNA 40 (VS rDNA 40) also says .10 ohm minimum but it will fire at least as low as .06 (and maybe lower -- haven't tried any lower). It does seem to get "warm" when I do that though. I don't know if it's a bug or if they changed the specs along the way in one of the revisions.

It's not a bug it's the soft limiting feature implemented in the DNA 40. The "Ohms To Low" error message explains how it works about 1/2 way down the page.

The revision I have is definitely different from the manual page (at least down to 0.06 ohm). It does not display any error message and seems to fire as expected.

Information:

Another software feature (General Tab) with the DNA200 we haven't mentioned (remember.. still beta... subject to change) is what I would call "Profiles" (actual names still to be decided). A number of them can be set up in the software and uploaded to the device. Changes can be made in the software and in the device.

Example of a possible profile:
Switching tanks from one to another.
You could set up a "Profile" for each tank and as you switch just select the appropriate "profile".

What to include in the profile? You decide.

Want to select coil material? Want to set the TCR (custom) ? Want to set the temp and wattage ? Want to set the preheat level, punch, duration? Want to lock the ohms?

Again preface this info as beta in nature.... (this explanation may not be as precise and as detailed as someone else may say but is just the best effort offered at this time....)

Quick one set up:

Coil Material: Nickel 200
Preheat Power: 75 watts
Preheat Punch: slider set to 5
Preheat Time Limit: 1 second
Power: 20 watts
Temperature Setting: 430F
Ohm’s Lock: not set
Profile Theme (name): Atlantis OCC
Custom Screen: default (no screen desired)
Does preheat work work with Kanthal?
