I left mine at .003 and it's working fine in TC using Ni200. Yours does seem a bit high. Here's a link where they are talking this very subject.
Tested with an rda shorted with copper wire (speaker cable as I don't have anything else) and got 0.019. Set the mod resistance to 0.016 and the Bellus is working fine. The Serpent still doesn't want to cooperate though.

Seems the Wismec provided mod resistance of .003 is way off on my device. I don't have a copper screw but ran the atomizer analyzer with a brass screw and a silver plated screw. .036 with brass and .026 with silver. Set the mod resistance to .022 as the water test and the cotton burn test seemed to indicate that that's what's correct. My Bellus now behaves how I expect it to. Seems high though, right, which might mean bad wiring? What have you guys set your mod resistance to and what were the results from the atomizer analyzer?

I just received one of the copper screws and tested both mine and the wives'... they came out at .004. There was a step I'd forgot after reading on the evolv forum - I forgot to reset the mod res back to 0.00 from the .009 I had it set on and upload it before the first test... not doing that had it showing some crazy, varying results.

It did set the mod resistance to zero so that shouldn't be the problem. Might be a little high as I tested it with an rda, but still... Anyway, it works now and I really don't feel like returning it and wait a month to get a replacement. I'll need to find a copper screw or rod to test properly.

You could just use your speaker wire (shortest length possible) to short the 510 connector on the mod itself. That way you won't have any extra resistance added. My DNA200 mods resistance are set between .003-.007.

I tried, but it was difficult to keep it stable enough. Got .026 at the lowest.

Remembered that I have plenty of mechs. Shorted the 510 with a copper pin from a Paragon clone and got 0.012. Set the mod resistance to 0.0095. Still high, but not by as ridiculously much as earlier.

Yeah a lot of manufacturers are lazy and do not enter the right value. This goes for the battery, the case, and the atomizer. I own the VT200 with the SS 510. Most everyone on the Evolv forums say there's tests (with pure copper) at .004 to .005, so I set mine at .0045.

Also, there is a guy on the Evolv forums who is selling atomizer test "plugs" for $10. They are pure copper and come with a threaded 510 connector. This is the most accurate way to test because an atomizer will add resistance. It's best to "short" the 510 directly with copper.

EDIT: One guy on the Evolv forums said he tested his with a copper plug and got .005.

I've tested multiple VT200's with the threaded copper plug and all have been 0.004-0.005 ohms.

anyone have an idea on what evolv doing to compensate for the oled screen shortage. do they have another supplier, different screen till the shortage is over? are they gonna suspend dna200 production indefinitely. whats the deal.

Just ran across this:

Guys I'm going up to 490F with rayon, is it too high of a temperature (Ti coils) I feel less than that is not performing enough. What are your comfortable temperature ranges?
my comfortable temp is whatever it takes to get my juice tasting the way i want it to. i would not put too much emphasis on numbers when it comes to temp, it's what you like and satisfies you. that being said, i usually vape in the 500°F and above category. that's with cotton and when the tank runs dry i don't get a burnt hit. so i'm still protected by temp limiting.

Thanks. I know about doing it how it tastes good for me. Maybe I just got obsessed with not surpassing 500 dunno why :). I don't get dry hits for sure but I thought it might be not safe even before that.

well.......when it comes to what's safe and what's not, i'm not gonna touch that can o worms with a ten foot pole. i know for myself, when i first started using tc, i never wanted to go above 500 either. i was scared bad stuff would happen to my eliquid but as time went on, i figured, "I smoked for all those years, so what i'm doing now has to be better for me." just find a happy medium with yourself.

edit......what kind of wire you using for tc?

Nice! Well its funny with my other 100 non temp control mods I never care for temp, and now suddenly because of temp control I don't want to go above 500 lol.

It would be nice to know how high my kanthal atties are getting to.

ok so this has been on my mind since the hohm wrcker gen 2 came out. they have actual temp control with nichrome/kanthal, that works. grimmgreen did a sneak peek and pbusardo is also excited about the mod. i don't think their board is anything crazy special. other than it can handle down to .007 (which most likely has something to do with their ability to do tc with non tc wires) so i'm wondering if evolv can whip something up to have the 200 do the same.

guys i had an incident with my releaux today. it started displaying warranty service then check battery. batteries were almost full as far as i remember. so i opened the back and realized that all of the batteries had torn wrappers. anyway i disposed of them. but my question could anything bad have happened to the dna? and do you think a reason other than the batteries could have caused this?

I had a Hanna mod display that same error message. And as far as the batteries shorting and harming you Releaux DNA board that is just not going to happen. The Hanna was fixed for me by Evolv.

PS - you can buy new battery wraps for a couple of cents each. They are shrink tubing and you can get them in colors and clear. You slip them on trim to length and use a hair dryer to shrink them as tight as factory new. He!! of a lot cheaper than throwing the batteries away.
