Yes it should. Heck you could just put the atomizer on that you are having trouble with, hook it up to Escribe, click on the atomizer analyzer and see if the resistance is jumping all over (without firing the mod). It could be something as simple as the 510 pin (of the atomizer) not making good connection with the mod. That's why I mentioned you could try another atomizer to see if that's stable. I assume you made sure the pin on the 510 connector of the mod is moving up and down freely (minus the spring tension of course).

Edit TBH when I've had resistance jumping wildly it's been one of my grub screws have come loose or a coil going bad. That would be the easy solution so it's probably not that lol

Edit 2 I think you are talking about the resistance bouncing between .35 to .7. That's a .35 ohm difference. My internal resistance of my DNA200's are between .003-.007 that's why I was saying it seems like a bad ground or bad connection somewhere

The mod was wonky with two different atomizers that are solid on other dna mods. That's why I'm suspecting either bad ground, bad connector or something with the chip.

I'll have to do some debugging. Thx for all the input.

Just tweak the board mount screws, I have seen this at least 3 times on the ERM and 99% sure it is you issue. You can even give them a clean with IPA/rubbing alcohol and the same for the contact points on the box and the board if you really want to go to town.

ETA does this fit your symptoms?

Yep, it fits. Grabbing a JIS driver as I type this. Be right back

Ok. I think it's fixed :)

The ground screws seemed snug but I removed them anyway, cleaned the board contacts with isopropyl alcohol and the screws too. I then screwed each screw twice fully in and out (to remove any possible oxide in the threads and assembled everything back. It's reading the offended atty at 0.32 Ohms now just like its sibling and the dna 40 :)

I guess those screws (or case holes) will oxide with time.

Happy camper now.

Anyone know what the new temperature dominate setting does?
It puts the temperature where the watts were and allows you to adjust the temperature with the + and - buttons in TC the way you use to adjust wattage. I use it in TC. In regular power mode I don't. You can choose it independently for each profile.

Cheers,
Steve

guys as i mentioned before, these days i only use dna200 devices. extremely happy with them. before this i thought vaping was mediocre. i am liking the looks of the vape forward/wisemec vapor flask. looks real nice to me. my question is if i am a dna 200 fanboy will i even like this thing? or does the performance not even come close. for example i would not at all be interested in a 350j. don't know about this thing. can you inform me please? i just hate blowing $100 for nothing so i ask of you guys how does it perform compared to dna 200? i am just guessing it's a far cry but i honestly have no idea. perhaps it is great. it is just because i like how it looks but if it does not perform forget it.

Does anyone have experience with UD SS 316L in TC mode? I am having problems as described here SS 316L coil with DNA200 board Problems - DNA 200 Early Adopters Forum

And was wondering if anyone uses UD SS 316L in TC mode without problems.

I've been using it for two months with no problems on my DNA200'S & RX200. The key for me was to up the resistance of my builds to at least .5. My go to build is 26awg or twisted 28awg for 10 wraps spaced coils with inner diameters of 3.0mm or 3.5mm. Prior to this I had a hard time with the RX200 giving me any vapor unless I jacked the TCR to 110 or so. Give that a shot & let us know how you do.

Yes, I too had to move to high ohm spaced coils or get low vapor. The DNA200 will still go into some kinda phase where it will jack up the temperature to over what I set it at. The only way to stop this behavior is for me to remove the batteries and restart the device.

I am starting to wonder if I got a bum device.

Check your pre-heat setting on your mod in Escribe.... I noticed that pre-heat was set to 75w after my last update. I dropped it back down to 35w once I noticed it.

It was showing this behavior when I set the preheat to the lowest setting also. I will do some more test and report back later with pics and such.

spiro, they like the looks too. amazing they guessed it was $300. i guess that is why i like the looks. how does it perform though? that's what i want to know. coming from a slew of dna 200 devices i am thinking this is going to be a big let down. of course i could be as wrong as they were lol. i know this is the dna 200 thread but i think i have earned my dna 200 badge of honor. so if i like one device that is not, it should be okay. however, i am guessing this thing is not up to par. for instance as i said i would never mess with 350j again. yes, this is ot but i figured someone that has dna 200 devices and this thing might be able to tell me how they compare. that's all. i am not trying to derail the thread for certain.

I have never found preheat to cause any probs other than with stainless steel wicks, I max it with all wires and cotton wicks. That maybe because I keep legs a short as possible.
You haven't found preheat to gunk up coils super fast like the guys at The Plumes of Hazard in Episode 77 did?
