Man I am going to have to relearn everything I had been doing with 316l now. Seems to be working a billion times better with the update.
But and there is always a but. I now have a really wierd issue. On a K5 clone I was having a lot of problems with it today. Then I tried the update. The problem was that I just couldn't get Resistance setting that didn't result in a too weak vape or at 40-50w didn't burn the cotton. After the update with no other change all of a sudden it's working semi fine till I looked at the monitor. Starting at 35w it was showing the temp being waaaay down. This really disappointed me because it meant that I still was waaaay off on it.
So using the puff control and gradually raising the wattage and testing the vapor. I got it to 80w. Trying it out it was really hot but not burnt in anyway and I still hadn't hit 450 in the monitor. It was just freaky that I was pumping out ridiculous amounts of power for a 26 spaced 12 wrap single coil. Power that was double the amount that had been burning cotton before. It wasn't the TC keeping it back either it was going full power because it hadn't hit the mark yet.

I know a lot of people love Kayfuns. I only bought one, a Heatvape Kayfun v3.1. I spent 6 hours trying to install a coil and I gave up. I went to my other attys that I can build coils all day and have them up and running in minutes. So I don't have much experience with them besides that.
But from what I hear, Kayfuns resistance isn't solid enough for TC. Something about a spring being the biggest problem. Do you understand this and does it effect K5s? I had a spring on my UD Genesis style RDA/RTA hybrid. The spring was only used for the RTA part. And that was a PIA.
Check your bottom 510 screw is really tight.I have 2 tobeco kayfunv5 and a SXK kayfun v5 all working absolutely perfect in TC with 316L on a DNA75.
The Kayfun v5 has NO spring. Works fine in TC mode. SS with its low TCR is usually the problem. Oh, and as the post above suggests, and I've posted since I discovered it when I got my 1st K5, and have posted 5-8 times already as no one bothers to read threads, only new posts. THE 510 PIN HAS TO BE SUPER TIGHT TO GET PROPER OHM RESULTS IN TC MODE!
I did have a problem where it seemed to have loosened up when I was working in it. But I took care of that and it's super tight now.
But all the weirdness went away with it sitting awhile. Now I see it dropping to under 10w.

Did the upgrade to 1.2 on my VS DNA200.
Maybe someone can confirm this ODD behavior. Plugged in to charge. One of my on screen settings is to see "USB CURRENT", normally shows close to the 2 amp charge I get with my iPad wall charger. This field is now showing low numbers, constantly changing, charging is SLOW. Something not right here.

Huh? I didn't change the setting, before update, it shows AMPS being delivered by the USB connection. It was a steady number like 1.96 amps. Now this field is showing numbers constantly changing, none close to 2 amps.
Did you try it?
No just the charging power to said batteries. Just stating if the display for battery needed a soft reboot maybe that did as well.
Interesting. My VS DNA200 is doing the same thing. It'll run up from 0.00a to 0.83a and then back to 0.00a. Possible problem with the onboard 2a charger?

Software glitch for the onboard 2a charger, not the mod itself. Might try rolling back to the previous firmware.
Thanks, at least someone trying what I suggested. This is a NEW BUG!
If it senses a significant imbalance between cell voltages it will switch from high 2a charge rate on + & - to lower charge rate through the individual jst balance plugs until the cell voltages equalize.

I know all that. Have you looked at yours on the charger after the update, don't know how to write it more simply!
