Do eGo cartridges really suck this bad?

I fill my blank eGo cartridges using the blue foam method and I hardly get any TH or vapor from this thing. Are they all this bad? My Kr808 cartridges hit MUCH better.

I ask because I expect to get my Mega eGo Atomizer tomorrow and I'm worried that the Mega Cartridges I have are gonna be as bad.

Any tips to get these to work better?

Use cartomizers. Period. I do not like carts on any level, but some do. They have a good hit for a few puffs then acckkk. Since the KR808 is designed as a 2 piece model, you were almost certainly using cartomizers NOT cartridges. Personally I have a KR808 and wouldnt give $1 for the entire kit as i will never use it again - ever. But some people do like that model...

basically, if you order 510 carto's you just changed your EGO into a 2 piece model. Easier, simpler, longer lasting before refilling, etc.

have you tried dripping with it? I never used cartridges on my eGo and I never used the Mega Attys but I can tell you that with a reg atty I found the ego a bit ...lackluster. most people love it... I am a minority but I went back to my 808.. Maybe a LR atty would give it a boost. I have seen good reviews about the Mega Attys though. I would be curious what you think of it as I have been thinking of trying the eGo a second time with the Megas.

I bought a starter kit that uses KR808 carts but purchased an eGO kit a week after. I'm still using both. I use the KR808 carts in my car since I have a USB passthrough in it.

I am using the eGo Mega cartomizers, too, and I don't see a difference in performance with those and my 808 cartomizers.

I did the tea bag filler mod before I got away from carts and it worked pretty well.
Now I either drip with mega ego attys or use mega cartos. Both of which are awesome!

What he said. My view is either use cartomizers and/or drip. People that drip, love it. But that is far more of a hassle than cartomizers. But I see little, if any, value in using cartridges. If you love/want/need those type of hits - then drip and use carto's when on the go. That is my view.

I have tried dripping and I have an atty that I only use to drip since I removed the bridge from it. The reason I ask about the cartridges is that I'm going on vacation this weekend and will probably be pre-filling some cartomizers and cartridges while I'm away from the hotel. I have a bunch of cartridges and I was hoping to get some good use out of them. Looks like I'm gonna need to buy some more cartomizers if the mega cartridges don't perform tomorrow when I test them out.

Hmmm.... well, this may be a personal preference thing then. I have not tried the MEGA anything with my EGO though... I have only used standard 510 carto's. So i can't really speak to them, perhaps others can.

Cartridges have nothing to do with it. It's all about the amount of power and that gets into voltages and resistance.

KR-808s run at 3.7v and eGos run at 3.2v. Given attys of the same resistance, you're going to get less vapor and TH with an equivalent inhale from an eGo than from a KR-808.

The following thread explains in detail why this is the case.

True, I already knew all that. However i still do not personally like the KR808 on any level. But I know many people do...so, this could be simply a matter of personal preference.

I just charged a pair and I'm reading them right on the meter, go ask leaford who now works for Bloog he will straighten you out

LOL, I know the KR is 3.7V and the EGO is about 3.2. Well, technically I think it is a 3.7V but the internal design makes it emulate/deliver 3.2 - or something like that. I am not a techno, on any level. I read enough to have an understanding in order to purchase.

Even though that battery voltage debate was far over my head, I found the thread interesting. There was another thread the other day where they were debating this exact issue with all the techno type people as well. Interesting reading, but i have no engineering ability on any level...
