Personal OCD dictates the following:
- Disassemble completely and separate plastic/rubber/silicone from metal parts
- Squirt a bit of dish soap into bowl with metal parts, then pour really hot almost boiling water over them
- Scrub with pipe cleaners, then rinse off and place in a shallow bath of Iso Alcohol.
- Now add the plastic/rubber/silicone stuff to soapy bath (it should be cooler now, enough not to melt plastic)
- Scrub and rinse as with metal bits.
- Plastic/rubber/silicone stuff should not spend more than a few seconds in Alcohol (prolonged exposure can dry and crack them).
- Air dry everything completely.
-Smell the metal bits real good.....if any whiff of machine oil detected, repeat and this time really scrub the everlivingsnot out of them.
Notes:
- Keep track of the really small stuff
- Thus, don't scrub/rinse those bits in the sink. Unless you're prepared to lose one or two of them.
- Post screws /grub screws may not be made of SS, so you may wish to forego most of the above, with them. Otherwise, rust shall ensue.
- Thus any other part that is obviously not SS (eg copper), consider wiping with alcohol "prep pads" instead.
