I scrub everything.
Attys, drip tips (inside and out), Cups and glasses from the store...Pots and pans and dishware, new clothes get washed before I wear them.

No telling who all has handled things and what their "after bathroom usage" habits are.

If possible, I would have given you an "Agree", a "Winner, an "Informative" and a "Like". Bacteria and virus are touch transferable and many remain viable for quite some time even when dry. These thing are touched by our hands and parts go into our mouths. Granted the risk may be low but the fix is easy, chap and rather quick. I vape for reduction of risk, I wash my hands for reduction of risk and I wash stuff for reduction of risk.

I'm still alive and kicking.

Dood, I say this about LIFE. Any time I do something that is unhealthy I say, "I'm still alive and etc."

To be quite frank, I'm sort of more comfortable with the idea that I have a born on date inscribed on me somewhere and a "die on" date, and there's nothing I can do about it.

When I do something healthy, like quit something, it is usually because it is making my life UNPLEASANT, versus actually shooting for Life Points," and whatnot.

So far, all I can say is, it's working. LOL.

I hear ya CMD, but I just can't get all that excited about it. IMO we are too clean these days for our own good.

There are microbes everywhere and without them inside us we would die a fairly miserable death. Consider people who live on a farm, who inhale and ingest animal droppings, all the microbes and other 'dirty' stuff in that atmosphere all the time. Consider how we lived just a hundred years ago or go back a few thousand. We are pretty tough in this regard and if something does get the better of us now we have antibiotics to help us out. Of course if we keep using them for every little infection, this advantage may diminish significantly over time.

Research is also starting to indicate that it's important for children to be exposed to more microbes than they are generally now in the developed world so they become healthier.

Anyway, back on topic, at least a little bit

I don't clean my vape gear to get rid of microbes. Both PG and VG are good enough at discouraging them from flourishing to make me feel OK about it. I did it because of the possibility of inhaling some chemical that might do me permanent harm.

But that's just me :)

I agree on the "too clean" concept and the idea of exposure for natural resistance. That being said, if it goes in my mouth and I don't know its provenance, I wash it.

I usually give them a rinse in warm/hot water before first use. That said, I keep thinking I should deep clean them but, then, I go "meh". lol

There have been a few that absolutely needed a deep clean though. The last was the Ares months ago...never seen a new unopened tank so dirty. Almost sent it back.

So, yeah, I look them over and decide what's needed....

In a world where one cannot trust hospital employees to actually wash their hands (friction, soap, water, rinse), I am not about to trust what may be on the hands of an assembler/packager.

That's no longer protocol, you can trust they're not doing that unless they'd just gone to the bathroom or helped someone go to the bathroom or got bloody. Soap and water to remove solids, sanitizer to kill germs.
