Halo does a great job with their stuff. It's always very clean out of the box. Remove the coil, give the clearo a quick wash with hot water, dry it off with a paper towel, and it's ready to reinstall the coil and start using right away.

Other tanks, especially from China, require a GOOD cleaning. Especially if they have metal parts which are almost always still covered in a light oil from the manufacturing process. If you buy a tank with metal parts be sure to clean it thoroughly before using.

Instead of making a new thread I would like to carry this forward, have a Kanger EVOD I might get in a few weeks just ordered it today. Is there any specific video of the washing process or any words of wisdom because at the end of the day this is a electrical device would not know what to hit with water or not. I have heard bad taste from atomizers, does one wash them?:$ sorry for the noob question.

No need to be sorry, that's why we're here :)
Give it a good hot water wash and let it dry first would be my advice :)

My polished Russian 91% from VaporDNA was absolutely COVERED in machining oil.
Not only was it greasy to the touch, you could smell it.
Stripped down completely, and cleaned/soaked in Blue Dawn liquid dish detergent cleaned it right up.
FYI, Blue Dawn liquid dish detergent is what the clean up oil spills with.
If it's safe for the birds and such...it's safe for a liquid vapor device!

On the other hand, my KFL+ second batch(all three of them) were spotlessly clean.
I cleaned them anyway though...just to be safe.

    As always, YRMV.

Do those of you that wash out each and every new tank you obtain also clean each replacement coil/wicks prior to use? Lots of little parts that all have to be machined too.

I do inspect new tanks before I use them and if I did detect any kind of gunk or oils I would definitely clean it thoroughly prior to use but that just hasn't been the case for me. I believe that manufacturers take great care to produce a quality and clean product but I'm sure there will always be exceptions.

Just a quick question. I've got a Halo mini tank coming today for my G6 and would prefer to start vaping with it once it arrives as I'm out of cartos. Is it safe to do so, or does it need to be cleaned first with hot water? How long, in that case, until it'd be ready for use?

I like to Rinse Out/Clean Everything Possible before I use it.

Only takes on Drop of Oil or Lubricant to Screw up the Taste.
