Guys,

The 510 regular size.

I got mine yesterday and after it tasted like crap I cut one apart with a tube cutter. They are full of primer to the point of it dripping off the string. AND the string is not what is normal either. It's looks clear and will burn black on a dry burn.

The 3.0 regular size are fine, no primer at all.

I put a message on Bruce's machine just now so I'm hoping he'll call me back soon so I can let him know about it. Additionally, I think that Bruce should open these things up when he gets a shipment to see what he's got before selling them at least until they get theses things where they need to be.

Thats dissapointing, glad the 4 boxes I ordered were 3.0Ω

I did get a box of 2.5Ω about 8-9 days ago from Bruce. They were unusable out of the box.
I soaked them in Vodka and used my steam cleaner on them and was happy as poop from then on.

I'm still puffing on one right now :) It sucks that they tasted like azz right out of the box, but at least I could make them work.

I cut my wicks off and do a 4 fold accordion PTB mod on them anyway. But that leaves about an inch total of wick still in play.

Here is the response from the factory. I left it untouched "Chinglish" so you see what I deal with!

Why the bad taste and the primer fluid inside....

Because we test all of our cartomizers,so we fill a little favouless omg liquid,if some cartomizers's function we need test several times(2-3 times),so we fill several times liquid, for one time, just 1 drip, however it is just several piece need to do like this! and if some cartomizers test the function at the first time,it is good,so we would not test them! maybe your customer test the cartomizers which one is we test several times!

On what I said earlier about the string: I checked the string and it is the correct one. It was so heavily covered with primer that it looked clear like fishing line. Today, I cleaned some of the primer off of one part of the string and held a lighter to it. I could then tell it what it was and that it didn't burn. The burning and turning black on the one I did the dry burn on must have been the primer.

Now, since we know that they put primer in at least some of them, it seems the best thing to do is to clean each one before using them. I take all the plugs out, including the filler plug, so that the cup is exposed and soak and rinse them in hot water for a couple hours, stirring and draining them with a spoon.

:)

I got 3 boxes of the new E2 vev 4 XL and every one I'v tried, about 9 or 10 of them, taste's burnt right of the bat, even with the thin juice in them. What can I do to fix them?

Take the rings out and boil them for several minutes, rinse and then boil some more. Wrist sling and even better still, put in a cotton athletic sock and twirl. Let them dry. (I put them in front of the hot air exhaust on my Notebook.) Then do some short dry burning. Two of my 3 ohm regulars, steel, released three black particles. One was like a splinter and ~.5 cm long. The other two were 1-2 mm in size. Keep in mind these were not painted, coated, or vinly wrapped carto.

I have not been able to use any of the recent shipment of E2s 2.5 and 3 ohm, reg and XL without boiling first. From now on I'm boiling every carto and atty that is boilable prior to first use.

Even on attys I've started boiling prior to first use. There are all kinds of things that can be left on parts such as pre-production coatings on metal and solder flux, etc.
