Hey guys, I just wanted to share my 3 months of documenting this little quirky unit. I had seen all of the rave reviews on YouTube, and everywhere else, so I had to purchase one. I really hope everyone that thinks about buying this device reads this first. Most likely it will save you some money and a whooooole lotta stress. So here it is.
______________________________________________
Week 1 - The size is perfect. I'm loving everything about this device, and it lasted 3 days before completely draining the battery. This is an awesome little device.
______________________________________________
Week 2 - Fire button cuts out sometimes when finger is on the fire button, not a big deal. Still getting excellent battery life out of this little guy.
______________________________________________
Week 3 - battery charging indicator stopped lighting up while charging, however it did still charge, just did not indicate that it was charging. Still getting great battery life, I can still go a few days without charging.
______________________________________________
Week 4 - Noticed twice during a light vaping session that the fire button kept firing after I released my finger. I quickly clicked the button again and it stopped.
______________________________________________
Week 5 - all of the above problems still present, except the fire button sticking.
______________________________________________
Week 6 - Now I am getting a "Low power" indicator when trying to fire from sleep mode. After a few try's, it goes back to the normal battery level and fires.
______________________________________________
Week 7 - Ok, this thing is definitely defective. It is not well made at all. Still getting all of the above problems minus the sticking fire button, except now the "Low Power" indicator is also giving a "Hisssssss" or "squeak" sound and taking about a minute to fire from sleep mode, and when turned off to back on. Sometimes I have to actually remove my atomizer from the device, then screw back on again in order for the device to fire.
______________________________________________
Week 8 - Not even 2 months with this device, and I am a bit scared to use it. I have just now watched a video on YouTube of this device firing on its own. I loved everything about this unit (perfect size, excellent battery life, usb charging etc...) except the main reason you pay for a device like this, which is for the quality. It is such a shame that these devices are so poorly made, because aside from the issues I am having, it's perfect, but my anxiety says to stop using it.
______________________________________________
Week 9 - Ok, so I fought my anxiety issues, as I am still curious about what else will go downhill with this device. I will document this a little longer. It works when it wants to now, about 90% of the time, but still has its "low battery" moments, and still getting all of the same problems as listed previously, just more frequently.
______________________________________________
Week 10 - still all of the same issues, nothing has changed or "magically" gotten better, as I had hoped for.
______________________________________________
Week 11 - oooooook, now I am getting the "jumping ohms" issue occasionally. I had read about this. I have tried several different atty's, all with the ohms bouncing from +0.2 up to +0.8.

I.E. - I am currently running a 0.7 ohm coil in my omega rda, screws tight as can be. It will bounce from 0.9 - 1.5 ohms. This has occurred the past few days, and seems to be getting more frequent.
______________________________________________
Week 12 - ok, here is the 3 month marker. I am done documenting this device after this, I am completely fed up with it. Ohms jump pretty much every time I use it now, from the sub tanks to the rda's. still all of the above problems remain (minus the 2 times it fired after releasing on week 4). It still works most of the time, but there is definitely a pattern here with this devices problems, and it just keeps getting worse and worse.

I have never dropped it, I have never spilled juice in it, it has never been exposed to sunlight, cold temperatures or high heat. It has never been out of my house, and has always remained at room temperature. I have never abused it in anyway shape or form, I handled it with care, as I do with all of my other devices. I contacted eleaf several weeks ago, and they never returned my email. I received either a faulty unit or their quality is just terrible. There are hundreds, if not thousands of others just like me that purchased this unit for a reliable, everyday device, and I feel cheated. It started having issues just a couple weeks into using this device, I feel ripped off, and I really would like some answers. I am definitely done buying all Eleaf products in the future.

Also, I do have some final words for anyone thinking about purchasing this device.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Malfunction in week 3? Did you buy it from a 3rd party vendor and have no warranty?

I purchased it from RockyMountainVapor, they have excellent service, and it was. Authentic. I contacted them a few weeks after I had it, and explained it wasn't indicating that it was charging. They said to return it no problem. But at that time the only issue was really the charger indicator not showing the Lightning bolt. So I didn't think that was a big deal, after about a month and 1/2 Im pretty sure my window of time to return was up. Figures, because then it really started going downhill.

I would think that most people interested in this device have done their homework and are already aware that it's loaded with issues, but more documentation is always good.

Yep, I know I spent a few days researching it before buying it. All of the reviews were amazing, but it ain't no good for the long run.

I switched from the Isticks to an IPV mini 70W as well. I have not had any issues with any of the 4 Isticks I have. My wife and I used them exclusively for about three months. She is still using her 20 and 30 as her go to devices also w/o issues. I'm not saying there aren't bad ones made, but they are not all bad or they would never have sold so many of them. With that being said, if any one of them had an issue like any of the ones described by the OP, it would be in the recycle bin the next moment.

Typical Chinese manufacturing push them out and try to fix on the fly. I gave mine to the wife she isn't interested in sub ohm so it might live a little longer. I'm stripping the 30w shark for a wrap or cerakote so that will replace the istick for her. There will never be another ismoka product in my house either way. I've had to work on all of them in some form or another and I'm done with that. I sure wouldn't try to fire a .2 build on one even if ismoka says it's fixed.

Yep, at the time I bought mine, all the reviews were positive, even Busardo's. Mine are functioning, and out of warranty now, so if they croak, nothing to do about it.

I think the pbusardo video is what really drove me to buy it, he seems like one of the most reliable reviewers, imo and he was highly praising it.

I guess I've been incredibly lucky. I have 2 30w isticks and 1 50w. The only issue that I've seen so far is that the 50 stops firing every once in a while while I'm still pressing the button.
But none of the other stuff though.

Hopefully that's all that happens, if you could please update soon, as I am curious to see how long these devices are actually lasting.

I believe the selling point was a 4400mah dual 18650, with usb and being so tiny for around $45-$70. But they obviously didn't give 2 craps about their quality control. Please update if you have any issues. Thanks

If the Istick 50w is so bad what is a good 50w regulated device for the money? What would you recommend?

I wish I knew lol, these companies ain't like car companies. You buy a Honda or toyota, and know you're getting a good quality car for the money. I use mostly unregulated devices. I do have an innokin itaste vv, and even though the battery needs to be charged after about an hour of vaping, it's lasted over a year, and never gave me any problems, not one.

I have heard good things about the sigeleis and they still have a pretty low price point, and at least the battery is replaceable.

I got a couple of istick30s too and mildly regret it now.

I now have 2 sigelei minis which are doing good so far, a couple of the wee provaris (they had a great deal couple weeks back) and a hex ohms 2. I figure even if the sigelei dies after 6 months, it was 33 online... And it might last a fair bit longer. The hex ohm is fir when i want power, and is really a solid and nicely built device.

the provaris are basically a good long term bet and insurance fir if things get nutty because of the fda.
