I get that the battery should not be put in the trash, but I have seen the "X" on a trash can symbol on some cartos and atomizers. Just curious what most people are doing with all this tech that can't be throw away.I know batteries can be taken to electronic recycling centers but what about the other stuff?

I generally ask at the local recycling centre and they generally take the non battery stuff off my hands and do with it as they see fit. I guess you could break it down to plastics/glass/metals if you so wished.
Not sure if things work the same in your neck of the woods but no harm asking them and seeing what they suggest.

Dead batteries I recycle. Gave away all of my plastic clearomizers. I only use glass now. Nothing much to recycle these days.

Glass, plastic and metal, goes in to your blue/green recycling bin that is provided to you by your local/state government.
Take it apart and separate the materials before hand.
