And are some suppliers' passthrus of better quality than others? I love using my PT, but the one here at work just stopped 'hitting' even though my cartomizer is full and not overused. Last week I clumsily dropped my car PT in a glass of Coke, so I know what went wrong with that one. I just wasn't sure if they had a typical life span or not.

Thank you!

Like anything else PTs will fail with enough time and use. Typical point of failure would be the switch or the soldered connections. You can cause poorly soldered wires to detach through use/and or abuse- especially if the unit doesn't have strain relief built into the ends of the cord. If you have a battery Powered PT the battery is also a possible point of failure.

Luckily any of these failures is easy to repair very cheaply.
