I would assume at the worst, you will fry the board. There certainly is a reason every battery catastrophe we have seen reported is from a mech or hybrid and not the ipv, sigelei and smok device that evey novice uses.

That is simply not true. IPV4, Sigelei 100w and Smok m80 comes to mind. Dig up the pictures yourself as I don't want to flood the board with ammunition for the histrionics.

Ive seen pictures of mod fires due to charging these mods internally. Never have I seen a battery explosion from actually using one though.

This definitely doesn't apply to all vapers, but, we wouldn't have 200w mods, or subtanks, if someone didn't push the envelope.

Just a couple years ago a 0.8ohm coil was "on the razor's edge of safety."
Still is for some of us

although... I been doin .5 today at a maximum of 20 watts. Klowdz for minutes bro.

The hybrid type mech mods seem to be the biggest danger today for new inexperienced vapers wanting to do .1 builds or put subtanks on them.
With Efest 100 amp batteries ;)
Not all subohm tanks are bad on a hybrid and not all RDA's are safe on them.

You don't understand my concern.

What happens when the person is using an atty on a mod that can fire very low buy they are using sketchy rewrapped batteries than can't fire that low?

The batteries can vent or explode.

If using the wrong batteries, ohms are a moot point, even at 1 ohm , the wrong battery can vent with fire. A box mod is not sealed tightly and won't explode , vent gas yes. Mechanical mods are the ones that can burst from battery pressure. No matter the build, not understanding batteries is the issue, not the mod or the build.

Any venting is pathetically insufficient if you use a battery that explodes rather than vents.

My impressions (and google results) appear to differ from yours.

This is not a vaping or mechanical or regulated mod issue. It's a battery issue. It's just what some kinds of batteries do when abused. While some mechs have had outbursts out all the wrong holes - and occasionally made new ones - how does one hold a battery of the exploding variety next to ones face without getting injured? By putting it in a different container? By using no container? Beats me. I stick to the non-exploding variety and even then stay within their limits.

A lot of new vapers are like PC customers used to be blow all the money on the big things CPU, gfx card and ram and when asked about the power supply were happy with some no name Chinese rubbish. Today it's flashy mech mods or high wattage devices nice flashy tank\rda and then throw some cheap rewrap battery to power it all then wonder when the worst happens.

I've seen bad incidents with mechs and regulated but rarely do you see a good quality battery as the likely cause, personally I loathe efest the most from personal experience it's bad enough they use pulse ratings to give the impression of CDR but when they use 10amp and advertise them as higher that's irresponsible. They are not the only company doing it but they are the most widespread every b&m I've gone has had them prominently placed with Samsung's, lg's and Sony more out of sight except one that isn't local and their policy was not to stock any efest products.

My biggest rant is about people ranting about what other people are doing. That's my rant.

If these people were doing this in private it would be one thing. But they aren't are they? They will be standing next to you at some event or walking next to you on the street carrying a potential pipe bomb. That's what bugs me. Frankly, I'm amazed I even had to say this.

Remember when one went off at some vape convention last year? The shrapnel left holes in the ceiling and a hole in the ground....it's a miracle no one was killed or maimed.

I think you mean cloudz 4 sekondz... My KFL+ is klowdz 4 ... never?
Settled down at 15 watts on the .5 in the RBA deck on the Sub Tank MIni. Nice vape. NO drips runs or error so far. Also I dumped the wide bore drip tip and put a more standard one on there and get a denser more flavorful vape.

I remember back when I was a youngster and my friends and I built a ramp to jump our bikes over. We didn't have a death wish, we just wanted to be cool like Evel Knievel. Little did we know we'd have as much success as he did with his Caesar's Palace jump in the early 70's.
I have no problem with someone that is trying to push the envelope. It's the ones that don't even know the envelope exists that worry me. Because they're the ones that get the headlines (And the YouTube "fail" videos). :nah:

I couldn't agree more :thumb:

My first physics lesson came at age 8 when I learned that a bicycle ramp should be longer than it is tall

One learns quickly when it involves a cracked jaw

I'm just glad no one ever banned bikes or ramps :)
