Of course I believe in ghosts. They are the earth bound spirits that won't go to the light after they have died. I believe in them 100%.

Of course I believe in fairies. They're the gossamer manifestation of happiness and goodwill that we project into the ether.

In my opinion, that statement is just as reasonable as yours.

No, I don't believe in ghosts.

However, I do believe that Elvis faked his death, and is currently leading the Illuminati from his secret headquarters orbiting the Earth.

Ghosts: No, there is too many natural phenomena to explain supposed sightings, if I saw one I might be more inclined to believe in them.

UFOs I believe plausible, there is an infinite possibility that other intelligent life exists therefore UFOs seem more possible

Also elvis was an alien who faked his own death just to go home, I thought everyone knew this?!

I believe because we have seen more than 1 in our house and one particular one has been seen at different times by different people.

And believe me when i say it can be a beggar going to sleep when its on a noisy night and it finds blowing ice cold air in your ear rather amusing.

yeaaahhhh....soooooo..... F THAT!!!!! LOL!!!!

Yes i believe in ghosts. The human body has its own energy. It is detectable and measurable with our technology. This electrical energy makes us breath, makes our heart beat, and more importantly is what our brain uses as a 'vessel' for our essence, our personality and thoughts. This point can't be denied as it has been proven.

The first law of thermodynamics is that energy can change forms but it can't be destroyed. again, has been proven.

So if you can't destroy energy, it can only change form, then that means the energy in your body that makes you..well you, will change form when the physical body that contains it dies off.

THAT is a 'ghost'. Residual energy. Thats why you always hear of ghosts that haunt a certain house where they died, or soldiers that haunt battlegrounds where they met their end. The physical form required to create more memories (senses and the physical brain) is not there, the 'energy' can only 'replay' what it 'knows'. You probably dont remember everything in your life, but you would remember your death...right? Thats what a ghost 'remembers'..its death, or some high point that happened in its life. If that person wasn't ready to die, or doesnt know they are dead, those are the ghosts you see that are more than just a 'blob' floating through the air. Their energy is stronger, less dissipated. They are more tangible. Those are the ghosts that are able to slam doors, make noises..etc.

I think this also explains things like children that are born after a parent dies, but before they actually meet, but have certain idiosyncracies (sp?) that their parents. A child that says something his dead father did, acts a certain way..etc.

I believe in ghosts, or call it spirit, or just energy. Not that I've ever seen one but I still believe.

I had a session with a psychic once just to see what he would say. He didn't know a thing about me and I knew not to give clues by my responses either. I had read that he recommends contacting the person that you want to hear from before the reading so I sat down and talked to my mother, who died in 1999. I told her I missed her. I said I felt lost and I needed her. I said to come talk to me.

The first thing he said was that my mother was in spirit. I said yes. He said she says she misses you. She says you feel lost. (omg!) She says you're the baby (I am the youngest of 4). She says that one of my children's middle name is her name. I said that my daughter's middle name is HER middle name (my mother was very pleased by that and it is also her mother's middle name). Did a relationship just end? I said yes. Your mother says, "good riddance." (yep, she would say that). She says he wasn't honest with you, he lied to you. Yes.

I could go on and on and I was shocked at how much was right on. I carefully didn't give him anything to go on. I know some of it could be pretty generic but I felt that most was too specific to be random.

"Mad" Anthony Wayne is who the city of Ft Wayne Indiana is actually named after. I'm surprised he ended up buried somewhere in PA. Without thinking about it or seeing a grave site (though there is a Ft Wayne fort.. a historical site you can go to and I have been there) I guess I just assumed Mad Anthony (who has streets named after him as well in Ft Wayne) was naturally laid to rest in Ft Wayne. Surprised to learn he wasn't. Learn something new every day.

.....

Thought you might find this excerpt from Wiki interesting:

Wayne died of complications from gout during a 1796 return trip to Pennsylvania from a military post in Detroit, and was buried at Fort Presque Isle (now Erie, Pennsylvania) where the modern Wayne Blockhouse stands. His body was disinterred in 1809 and, after boiling the body to remove the remaining flesh, as many of the bones as would fit in two saddlebags were relocated to the family plot in St. David's (Radnor) Episcopal Church cemetery in Radnor, Pennsylvania. A legend says that many bones were lost along the roadway that encompasses much of modern U.S. Route 322, and that every January 1 (Wayne's birthday), his ghost wanders the highway searching for his lost bones.

short and simple answer....yes. (where's the poll to keep track here?)

haven't actually "seen" one, but I've felt things when there was nothing there, and at times in certain places have felt almost overwhelming fear for no apparent reason, and would see strange images if I closed my eyes. I know half the people here will say it's imagination, but it wasn't the same as that....don't really know how to explain it so i usually don't even try

Well, its almost Halloween...:D.... who believes in ghosts?

My best,

I defiantly believe in ghost/spirits/something. I have had several experiences in my life and one particular one took place right there in Rochester NY on Child Street in a house that my husband grandparents owned, anyhow my husband and I had talked about wanting children, we were talking about adopting because I was told when I was 14 that I would never be able to have kids unless I had corrective surgery and being much younger at that time I was scared to death of having surgery. Well anyway we were in bed and my husband was sleeping and I was laying there watching TV wide awake when I felt a hand touch my cheek and lightly move down the side of my face, I sat up looked at my husband who was still sleeping looked around the room and seen nothing but my dog who was on my lap acted as if she was watching someone/something walking around the room. The funny thing about all of this is that I was startled but did not feel fear, so to try and shortened this long story, 3 weeks later I was pregnant with our first child , I never had the corrective surgery and the doctors were not sure how my body corrected itself.

When I lived in hawaii, I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom. When this little girl about 7 walked in and stood in front of me. She was looking down so could not see face. I started to ask who she was when she walked into the shower and vanished. True story, not drunk and not on drugs promise. My hair stood up and I left the house. Never saw again.

Yes, I do! I saw my Grandpa in my room waving to me..which I thought at the time was him just popping into my room to say he was home from the hospital where he was recovering from a heart attact. My Uncle, Aunt and cousins were staying with us from out of town so they could visit Grandpa. I nudged my cousin who was sleeping with me in my room (we were 9 years old) and she waved to Grandpa and fell back to sleep. I got up and went to the kitchen where the adults were gathered and asked where Grandpa was. Before they could answer, the phone rang, it was a Doctor saying Grandpa had just passed away.
It wasn't just me who saw him, my cousin in my room and my other cousin (age 11) who was in my sister's (who slept through it) room saw him too. It wasn't scary or weird, just Grandpa doing what he always did before we fell asleep..looking in and waving. The only odd thing was him not saying "good night and don't let the bedbugs bite".
I was an adult before I knew bedbugs were a real thing! Oh, and Grandpa was wearing street clothes, not a hospital gown which is what he died in.

I guess this all boils down to faith, just like religion does. No one here has any verifiable evidence to support their belief in ghosts. All they have is anecdotal evidence based on personal experiences that could be quantified in any number of ways other than ghost sightings. In the absence of any credible evidence the conclusion is obvious. Ghosts don't exist.

Or that the evidence does prove Ghosts or whatever they are are real and we don't exist!
Happy Halloween!
