Did you take an off ramp I am unaware of? There have been plenty of people who've made it to an old folks home who smoked. Unless of course, you think you're experience is universal and applicable to all. Perhaps Nova Scotia is much more totalitarian place than the down home, friendly place called Chicago where I live.

I've worked in nursing homes in the suburbs of Detroit and they do not allow residents to smoke inside. They must go outside or be taken outside (depending on their level of mobility and/or cognizance) in order to do so. I sure hope I never end up in one of those places.

I get looks I approach them and engage them has been my default stance for two years and I've only met two who were totally closed minded about vaping far more now say hello, how's it going and still on the thing. No point getting angry or confrontational about it you have to remember what the average person knows about vaping and where they got the information, Time, patience and an approachable manner on your part can harvest very good results and spread education that in my experience they then spread further as like it or not how hard legislation hits us will be decided by those average people not by us .

I won't stand for violence of any kind so that verbal violence by the person claiming it is illegal to vape would have had me whipping out my cell phone offering to call the police for them, since it's illegal and all the police should be involved right? And while we're at it we'll also take care of the uncalled for harassment with the officer as well. See how fast they change their tune. Some people are just nuts, ok whatever we're all different, but I'll be damned if I would let them spew their nutty venom my way. Just give them what they're asking for and offer to call the police for them next time. I'm so glad I haven't had to deal with this crap yet, sorry you've had to deal with all that nightwalker.

A police officer is not going to drop what he/she is doing to rush out to your defence because somebody hurt your feelings. This is a silly way to try to get back at someone that wouldn't work even if a police officer was right there.

I know this because there is one two blocks from my house and there are elderly smokers outside of it.

No i was not, and it wasn't a conversation it was me shouting back at him stating that its my ecig. It's Pearson Airport in Toronto sir, Police doesnt show up unless they have a probable cause or you telling them that you are bleeding to death.

A police officer is not going to drop what he/she is doing to rush out to your defence because somebody hurt your feelings. This is a silly way to try to get back at someone that wouldn't work even if a police officer was right there.

I never said anything about hurt feelings, I was talking about harassment, verbal assault in a situation where it is completely unwarranted, which is something an officer would respond to. But mostly my point was that vaping is not illegal and inviting the accuser to call the police so it can be handled, since it's supposedly illegal, would be the appropriate step to take, according to the accusers logic.
