I can tell you that my health has increased, I do not get winded or tired anymore and I have started running(just ran a 5k this past saturday). These things have helped me tremendously. I smoked for 26 years and I have not had a cigarette now in over a month.

Did not see the date on post 41. looks like poster 42 was trying to get his post count up to 5(lol)

I must tell you, I have been smoke-free now for 13 days and my health has GREATLY improved! I find it hard to believe I have quit smoking after 20+ years with many failed attempts under my belt. For me, it was an almost impossibly easy transition from analogs to ecigs, instantaneous in fact! As soon as I got my eGo and finished up the half a pack of cigs I still had, I haven't looked back since. From the first day using my ecig, I was no longer waking up in the morning having to clear my throat for the first hour. My energy level has increased tenfold during my days now, and I can smell and taste again. Just last weekend, my girlfriend and I bought bicycles to ride around for some extra exercise. Prior to then, I hadn't been on a bike in about 13 years, but to my disbelief, after a ride I am not panting my lungs out and I barely even break a sweat! It is amazing how well I am feeling!

I was about a pack-a-day smoker, give or take. With todays cigarette prices in my area, that was over $140 a month just to feed my nasty addiction. Since I bought my eGo starter kit, juices, cartos, etc, I have spent just a little over that now. But the good news now is, I have everything I need! With the way I vape, I won't need to buy anymore juice for probably another month or so and I am good on cartos for even longer than that. I would say I have taken my $140/month killer addiction and invested it towards my $20 to $30/every other month much healthier alternative. Of course, once you get introduced to the vaping world, you will find neat little gizmo's here and there you want to try out. Trying out new products in search for that 'perfect vape' can be an addiction in its own right! :p

After 29 years of smoking, I absolutely feel better. I used to wake up choking and coughing, as the day went on, it would subside, but next morning it was more of the same. I started vaping and now I can go weeks without coughing once. Just amazing results. It is awesome to be able to breathe again.

I highly recommend vaping over smoking.

Amazing! This thread only went 5 pages, and it was created in 2009. I guess people still read it, so I'll say more of the same.

I used to wake up hacking crap out of my lungs. I thought I was just sick. I barely even noticed it happening, but after a while I realized that I wasn't doing that anymore. That's when it hit me, it was the smoking. Also, it wasn't all the time, but when I was laying down I could hear myself wheezing as I breathed. That's completely gone. I don't care what bad things people who don't know have to say about vaping. I know that I've added years to my life, even if I never quit.

I haven't read all the replies.....

The concensus here seems to be that you will notice positive health effects. But you really have to be honest with yourself. Using e-cigs is just changing the way you get your "fix". I suppose they could be used as an easier way to ween yourself off the chemical dependence.

For me, I really like smoking. It's relaxing and personal pleasure thing. I hated the how analogs made me feel. I don't expect to be nicotine free any time in the near future.

About a year ago, I bought the NCIG by NJOY at a Pilot Truck Stop out in Washington State south of Seatle. I am a truck driver so I do get around ;) I am from the Montreal, QC, Canada area. When I started using it, I never looked back. I was cigarette free for 3 months. I felt great. One day, my NCIG all broke down at home. My wife still smoked :( so you know what happened from there. I regret that day.

Now, I bought a JOYE 510 here in Canada, E-Liquid RY with no Nicotine since its currently not legal here in Canada. Today is Day # 4 that I stopped smoking and still vaping. I use Nicorette Gum for Nicotine only when I feel I REALLY need it. Up to now, All is good. Sense of smell is coming back. Feeling alot better!

So yes, I think that E-CIG's are much better alternative and alot healthier then smoking tobacco. I give E-CIG's a 10 out of 10.
Even without the Nicotine.

Keep on Vaping! For Yourself and your Health. \m/

I'm approaching 3 weeks clean!

No coughing in the morning or shower, no stink, smell taste better like everyone else mentioned.

The money I save is ridiculous. For proper branded cigs up here, youre looking at over $10 a pack. My PV starter kit and 6 months worth of juices (approx. $150) has already paid for itself in only 2 weeks. My total overhead with juice and cartomizers is less then 50c a day! I'm looking at saving my health, and the equivalent of a car payment every month!

Just do it!

I don't have "morning cough" anymore, and I have been told by a couple of colleagues that I "look" better.

Vaping has other great advantages that have been listed by others on this thread (and I agree).

Cost...well, it depends on you. Some become some enthusiastic that they seem to be spending quite a bit  I like trying new juices and for me, even with using the same ecig, it ends up being about the same price (I have to try mango! Read a lot of people here saying it's great). If you stay minimalist and buy one set up and just what you need, I am sure it will be cost effective.

I do feel better. I have been vaping for two months now. I noticed right away the change just like when I quit smoking before. I quit before for 4 years. I used the patch the first time but even though I didn't have cravings and the smell and taste was gross I did miss smoking. Thats the main reason I started again. It was like a best friend that you hadn't talked to for awhile. They were always there for you but you had to stay away. I knew when I found e-cigs that this was the perfect way for me to still have something I loved but without the bad. Since vaping I love it even more then smoking! Having a blast trying new juice. I only wish I had a different pv. I did lots of research but I don't like one of my choices. I have two ego-t and two joye 510s. At first I hated the 510 and loved the ego-t. For about a month I pretty much only used the ego-t, but the atty's started acting up and even though I cleaned them and took care of them they just don't work as well. When they started not vaping as well I started using the 510 more and fell in love with it. I am trying more with the t atty's and ordered some more atty's per recommendations here and the B version is still not great. I am going to work through what I have. I really like the cartomizers for the ego and the 510 that I got. Think after I use these up I will get the go go, igo, or the echo.

I was smoking half-a-pack a day (Canadian, so 12-13 smokes) for over 20 years. That's about $5/day.
At midnight, I'll be hitting 1 week without touching or even considering an analog.
I really should track my investment in e-cig merch so far, but it won't take long for me to start coming out ahead financially.
As for my health, I'm starting to get my sense of smell back - a guy next to me in class smokes, and it's becoming rather noticeable...
