They were getting the same hit 2 years ago.

How would you know?

Im not trying to be insulting but your join date is last year.

There were plenty of people vaping 2-3 years ago and millions of dollars changing hands. Just like there was millions of dollars changing hands in 2009. That hasnt changed at all.

Whats changed are the increasing numbers of inconsiderate vapers blowing clouds wherever they damn well please.

Its not all cloud chasers and its probably not you, buts its a case of the actions of a few giving us all bad name.

Again, I would hardly call that progress.
Meanwhile it's not the clouds the ANTZ are arguing. Its saying that every flavor that isn't tobacco is going to hook children and bogus claims of Formaldehyde and Antifreeze.

Everywhere I go now, somebody is telling me vaping is more dangerous than cigarettes. It's the bogus studies that have caused all of this and the .... everybody reads on Facebook from every source including Buzz Feed and IFL Science. Even the CDC has anti-vaping advertising all over Social Media. Like the click bait pharmaceutical ad talking about the woman whose lung collapsed.

Two and three years ago, there wasn't a vape shop or three in every city in my area. Two and three years ago, our big tobacco retailer, Wild Bills which consists of around 70 stores wasn't making most of their money from vaping.

Oddly enough the only place you hear alot of whining about cloudz is here.

I've heard every warning of impending doom about vaping. But I was holding a C4 when I told it. Now that I'm using 7000 horsepower nobody has re-warned me.

I do have to follow a number of rules because of stealth vapers. But all the restrictions are 3-5 years old so no connection to cloud chasing.

People claim that there are no stupid questions...well, this is one.

Now come on. Just a bit green maybe. He`s been asking all the right questions Bud Wabbit. He`s just not been around long enough. Or he would know this ? gets asked about every week or two. 80% of regular joe`s come to vaping with tanks, for awhile those work fine. Then about 50% of those find out RDA`s is where its at after making the changes necessary to really accept vaping and get off the cancer sticks.

Now those Tootlers?? Shesh, LOL. (For the record my wife is a tootler, LOL)

The new generation of Subtanks Kick .... Just try a Uwell Crown with a .25 Ohm Atty, there is just is no comparison to the older Tank Devices.
Keep an open mind.

Not only are they easier to build but easier to maintain. You don't have so soak in everclear overnight if you decided to vape something like cinnamon. I switch flavors too much to use a tank. You also can't take your tank in a shop to sample flavors in search of a new juice.

That is another plus for rdas, it's so easy to switch flavors of test others!

I'm sure many folks had similar discussions when commercial ammunition manufacturers started producing mass quantities of ammo and made it readily available to the general public many moons ago. "Why would anyone handload ammo when you can buy it ready made?" ..However, then as now many folks prefer to "roll their own"..and always will.

You know its funny how much vaping has changed in the past 6 years.

When I first joined the forums, people were predicting that clearomizers were going to be extinct, mainly because they sucked and leaked like sieves.

Now people are saying carto tanks are going to be extinct......yet IB Tanked sells out of their pre-punched cartos all of the time.

I think vaping will move away from this cloud chasing and come full circle within the next year or two. Old tech will be revisited and improved and we'll see old/improved fads catch on again.

Much like the clearomizer tanks.

I also dont think that cloud chasing and vaping as a sport is anywhere close to most peoples definition of progress either.

Cloud chasing is to vaping as Hot Rodding is to driving.

Its not the future of vaping, its just an offshoot and to state otherwise is the height of arrogance.

LOL~ From your keyboard to China's ears, Zapped! I so hope you're right!

There will always be a market for RDA but it will become more and more niche.

Tanks have made great inroads. I bought a Uwell Crown Tank and am finding that it's producing voluminous flavorful vaper.
My bottom feeders [dripping from Bottom] are gaining Cobwebs.

The New Tanks have huge low resistance coils strung vertically and in my opinion are providing a better vape flavor wise then any RDA that I've ever built.

Try a crown tank, seeing is believing.
I think rda's will always have nastalgia if they were to go instinct. Which I don't think they will. I will admit tanks are easier and j haven't tried the tfv4 yet but I mean. It's like rda is driving manual. More fun and stuff but automatic is way easier. That's the way I see it

As a former competition shooter, I'll tell you that shotgun shells can be reloaded and are more accurate if done right. The analogy still stands.

I don't think RDAs are in any danger of going extinct, but I think the days of the $100+ RDA are definitely numbered. There's very little left in the way or design refinement in RDAs, and with the Chinese churning our clones of even the best ones for less than $20 it won't be long before the market for expensive ones collapses. There will be a handful of companies that will still make high priced ones just because there are some people who will pay that price for the exclusivity factor. It's bling and some people will pay top dollar for bling. It's an ego thing. But by and large I think the clones will morph into generics, and at a sub $20 price tag they'll become the norm for RDA users. Why pay more if the sub $20 RDA works just as well and has all the features that make an RDA great?

That's sort of happening with RTAs now. It used to be you either got a $100+ RTA or you got a poor clone. Now when people ask what a good RTA is they get answers ranging from the Lemo to the Subtank Mini with RDA deck to the Zephyrus or Goblin. All $20-$40 tanks. You never hear anyone recommend a $150 RTA anymore.

Another way of looking at it is that it used to be Manual Transmission gave better gas mileage then Automatic.
They improved the Automatic Transmission to the point that they both have = Gas Mileage.

Some will always prefer Manual but Automatic has improved tremendously. Same with Tanks.

I dont think so.. Once youve built one right, its a world of difference in flavor and vapor.. "In the beginning" I never saw myself dripping (or needing anything more than my Kanger Evod hah), tanks were just convenient and easy. Once I started rebuilding those Kanger heads, I got really curious and got my first Kayfun. Was hooked. Had a not so great experience with my first RDA, a Magma that leaked everywhere, and didnt use it for months. After I bought 3 Kayfun 4s at the beginning of the year I decided to give it one more go when the Derringer came out and it was the game changer. I havent touched my Kayfuns since May, and now rotate through 3 Derringers and a Samurai Bonsai clone. Im really curious to try the new Cthulhu V2, because a tank would be nice when Im driving distances (my Derringer holds just enough to get me the 15 miles to work, I can always refill it if Ive got time to kill before I clock in) and the Cthulhu is supposed to have the airflow like a dripper, but other than that, nope, not touching a tank again. Too many parts to screw up (ever take apart a Kayfun 4?), and I like the freedom I have over builds with RDAs. Plus I hate feeling like Im sucking through a straw.

I wanted to get a new sub-ohm tank tonight, though I've had no problems with the artic the past 6 months I've recently run into some problems with it, the ohms kept jumping on me sometimes which was annoying, so I figured I'd check out a new tank. I chalked it up between the UWELL Crown and the Smok TFV4. I get to the vape shop and the guy instantly recommended the TFV4 when I asked what is in your opinion the best sub-ohm tank out now. So I went for it.. Brought it home tonight, vaped her at 45 watts which is normall what I keep my artic at... The thing shines brightest at 80-85 watts.. same wattage I vaped most of my RDA's at. The tank puts out just as much vapor as any RDA I've seen. Dripping becomes a hassle after a while and I think the only argument left is flavor. I guess there is also the whole hobby side of building as well.. but in terms of vapor, it seems like tanks on own par, and almost there with flavor as well. What do you guys think?

I had given up on tanks because I could not find one that had very good flavor. I was rocking the Veritas, Magma, then left them behind for the short attys with better flavor like the Freakshow Mini and Rogue with top airflow to stop the leaks.

I watched a review of the Goblin Mini and since it was only 29.2 mm tall without 510 pin and drip tip. About the size of the Veritas.

I bought a clone on eBay and the flavor BLEW ME AWAY. The flavor was as good as the short little Freakshow or Rogue. I left tanks for drippers then left drippers for the GMini. A few months later Jim G started rocking a Kayfun Lite Plus with Bell cap, and I'll be darned if the flavofg isbt almost as good as the GMini.

The Kayfun is OLD technology with excellent flavor.

So I rock the GMini and Kayfun with Bell cap.
