With all the talk of steeping I have this picture in my mind of people going down to their basement to the juice cellar and deciding between an '11 Boba's Bounty or a '12 Superskunk.

While I don't think any of you have a actual cellar (I could be wrong) I do have some questions, kind of a survey.

Where do you keep the juice while you steep it? (I currently do not steep)

How long do you steep it? (See above)

Is steeping helpful for juice that does not have any nicotine in it? (I don't know)

Steeping e juice is a process that allows the flavor carrier to bind with the the other ingredients in the juice. I do steep generally for 3-5 days depending solely on taste. I do DIY juice, and have found for when I make a batch involving more than 3 flavors, steeping is a must for me, it can play a significant role in how it tastes, as well as what flavors come out more strongly than others. When I steep, it is as simple as a once a day shake for a 10 second period, and then back into the drawer to sit. After 3-5 days, I am good to go. And I do notice a significant flavor difference. There are plenty of people like yourself who do not steep ad get by just fine, I consider myself a flavor junkie and this is what works for me. Nicotine or not, the flavor does take time to bind in the bottle with vg/pg.

I steep but juice is rarely around long enough for me to stockpile it. I usually only buy sample size bottles 3ml, as you never know how its gonna taste. I have had some flavors like bubblegum taste like trash truck juice smells. If any of you ever been behind a city trash truck you know what I'm talking about. I don't know what combination of flavors make bubblegum but it wasn't in there. My local B&M shop has samples but not in the flavors I'd like to try for some reason. I will eventually end up making my own juice, I have already started stockpiling USP VG and PG as well as collecting sweeteners and flavorings. I need a good recipe site to visit. but for now I'm content to just buy small size and large size if I like it.

I keep my steeping juices in the cupboard right next to the coffee. It's dark in there and since I make coffee every day it reminds me to "shake" them up a little while I'm in there. :)

If I order some samples, I don't even open up the package just to keep the light out. I just shake the whole box every now and then and open 'em up in 3 weeks or so. (No, I don't let juices "breath". I want all the flavor to stay inside where it belongs )).

I have mine in one of those cheap Wal-Mart cabinets in a closet. I usually let juices steep 2-3 weeks but I have plenty of juice to last probably a good 6 months so steeping isn't an issue. I do a basic 24 hour heating/breathing combo then let them sit and then shake them ever so often. Seems to be a good system for me.
