i'm an old hack, have had teles and strats, takamine 12, ovations galore, a kramer (really cool model with built in sustain), and a few others. i'm down to just one though, washburn ae. played in a few bands years ago, just locally - we always drank our gig money anyway.
took 14 years classical piano as a young turd, and taught myself gitfiddle, bass, clarinet and sax from there.

but like i said, i'm just a hack.

Have a cheapo Ibanez strat copy right now but I used to have and play out with two Chapman Sticks. One was Brazilian Ironwood the other a Polycarb

The pic is from the manufacturers site and mine? well divorce is an ugly thing.
If I ever get back to work in my trade I will be replacing at least one - fingers crossed.

Yep, got a customized Jackson DNKY with dimarzio pickups and a gotoh tremolo system. And a complete custom job consisting of a stinger body, jackson factory pickups, jackson licensed tremolo and a mighty mite neck, looks just like an 80's charvel. The jackson is blue with rosewood fingerboard, with shark-tooth mother of pearl inlays with the inverted headstock.

I would love to learn to play guitar if I could find one that my hands would fit on. I'm only 4' 11" tall so I have very small hands. I spent years taking piano lessons so reading music isn't an issue. I'd really like to learn classical guitar because I love listening to it.

I do play guitar and bass on Rockband, but that doesn't really count :).
Eddie Van Halen has really short stubby fingers.

Nice...Yep...I've got a BC Rich Warlock, with a Floyd Rose Speedloader bridge/tremolo, a Washburn mahogany acoustic....and I just rebuilt and painted an old Dean piece of crap that my neighbor's son tore up.

...my neighbor was so ...... off at his son that after I rebuilt it, he just gave it to me. I adjusted the truss rod, painted it, replaced the bad pots, and rewired the torn up stock pickup wires and also had to shield it as there was a lot of buzz coming through the amp. Now that he gave it to me I'm gonna save up for some EMG pickups and some new tuning pegs...oh and I don't really like the TOM bridge....so that may become the '.......ized Tom" when I'm done with it. :D
Other than a little time I really don't have any $$ in it, so for 200.00 bucks or so, I should have a decent guitar. Plus I always wnated to kinda build a Frankenstein...lololol...it'll prolly go through a lot more changes.

Here's what it looked like before I put the guts back in after I painted it:

Anyway...for amps I have a Behringer AC112 - solid state through a tube power amp. It's not very big, but it's heavy as all get out and screams like a banshee if ya need it to. I usually use this for a vocal amp.

For my main amp, I use a Line 6 Spider III 300w half stack. In front if the Spider, I have an RP 150 that I have all the sounds I need pre-programmed....I really want something so that when I'm messing around I can record it and then play it back and figure out leads over the rhythm...then burn it and give copies to my drummer and bass player.

Anyway....I'm not a pro, I have a regular job, but I love jammin'! We play Misfits, Ramones, Sabbath, Volbeat (great band!), Priest, Crue, and many others... plus we have some originals too.

Last Halloween we actually did some Metal Elvis. FYI - we play at our annual Halloween party every year. This past year we had to play in a friends garage cause of the muddy backyard and the cold weather.

Couple of years ago:

...yeah....I know...crazy for a 41 yr old dude to play dressup on Halloween and jam out to the music I love while entertaining about 30 close friends. Oh well....I'll never be able to make money doing it, so it's all for fun. ...although I would play a set or two for BEER!

:D

Thanks for reading...

Been playing all my life! Played in local bands up until my early 20's then took a LONG hiatus until 5 years ago. Now I'm in 2 cover band, have 21 guitars 8-o and more amps/rack gear than I can count much to my wife's dismay.

My main rig is a USA Jackson SL2H into an ADA MP-1 preamp into a Mesa 2:90 poweramp.

Here's a Youtube page link for one of my bands, Powerline:

Cool ... lots of musicians.

I've been playing for, well, longer than anyone else has admitted to. That sure doesn't mean better, just that I'm probably older. 'Played the first gig on a bar when I was 14 ... a freebie but it led to paying gigs later.

While I've had a Strat and a Flying V among others, I currently own an Ibanez EX, an impulse buy for which I traded in a Washburn solid body in a local music store. My amp is a Carvin two-12 open-back through which I run an old Zoom 9000 which works adequately for rock and blues.

A Wechter Pathfinder fills my acoustic needs as it's a double-cutaway with a tripe-pickup system; magnetic, a Piezo in the bridge and a mic inside the body.

'Great to be in the company of other players!

does anybody here play a guitar? electric or an acoustic? i only have two, a sunburst strat (mexican one) with super slinky strings and a mother of pearl pick guard and a takamine G340SC. Ive been playing for about 9 months ans im looking to get a gibson SG or a les paul.

I tried taking lessons last summer but hurt my fingers too much. My step-son is an extremely talented guitarist and pianist. My 13 y/o is taking lessons now, has been for the past 2 years. He plays electric but I can't remember what brand it is. I just love to hear them play. I play keyboard and used to play clarinet and bassoon.

I have been playing for about 10 years off and on. I took a break for about a year when my son was boring and now slowly getting back into it.

I currently own a Gibson Les Paul standard traditional pro, playing thru a marshall DSL and for effects i use a line 6 M13

I am SOOOO wanting a Peavey 6505 but the problem is, I do not need the head, i just want the 2x12 combo ( the new 1x12 is junk ) problem is no local places carry it for my to try out and if i dont like the 2x12 it might be a pain to ship back.

I use to play schecter guitars and i LOVE them! Honestly i think they are better then Gibson but i just HAD to own a Gibson i guess ( i bought a PRS once and i was to afraid to even hold the thing and returned it!! lol )
