I can remember when I was a younger Lad and as broke as could be jonesing for a smoke. I would be driving along only to find my pack was empty so I'd pull the car over and search high and low for that one cigarette that I knew that I had dropped between the seats and when I found it, boy was it old and nasty but I would smoke it. Now I'm going 19 days analog free and can't believe I ever smoked as much as I did.

I remember having both sets of impacted wisdom teeth removed when I was in my early 20s, I was a 2 PAD Marlboro Red smoker then. A friend was driving me home and I was still really out of it from the valium drip and DYING for a cigarette. My mouth was full of gauze so I smoked one through my nose. Didn't feel a thing.

i remember the many times where i vowed to quit analogs and broke them all in half only hours later looking to piece one back together and if it was a lost cause, to smoke it without the filter. disgusting!

That's why I used to dunk my packs in water before I threw them out!

I would go out to my car around 2am when I had run out and opened the ashe tray looking for that one I knew I had put out and was only 1/2 burned. Take it inside, cut the end off with a razor and good to go. lol.

Same here. But I never cut the end off. The first drag or two was gross, but it was what I had to do. Especially in the middle of nowhere and all the local gas stations were closed. Looking back, I can't believe I did that.

I remember going out to smoke in the rain and a big drop of water would fall on my last cigarette right above the filter. I'd try to smoke it carefully so the paper wouldn't tear, but sometimes it would. The I'd try to hold it with my finger over the tear so I could get some smoke out of it. I've even used tape, to tape a cigarette back together.

I remember a few dragoncons ago running out of cigs at like 4am…searching high & low for somewhere open……eventually it culminated in me asking a cop if he knew anywhere……he lead me through the bowels of the hotel to the employee break room on the 5th sub-basement that had a vending machine……that charged $10 for a pack of Marlboro Mediums (best option……I'd given up on finding Lucky Strikes long before that). I smoked a few over the next couple hours and bought a pack of LS when a gas station that had them opened up at 7……and threw away the Marlboros. $17ish for what amounted to 24 cigarettes was ridiculous.

I think that was the day I realized I had a problem.
