keep a 3 or 5ml bottle of tobacco eliquid in pocket or purse. if the cravings get too bad squirt a drop or two into your mouth. that should SHOCK the craving away and leave you not wanting to anyway near an analog...

I like that thought, when you're unable to vape. Although, just liquid contacting the skin can be enough though. (Depends on the urge)

I quit smoking as soon as I started vaping. I had the craving for a cigarette only once (so far). I vaped Ry4 and the urge was gone. I have to admit, I think it was due to the habit of mine. I love drinking my Bier (well, I'm German after all). What doesn't go better together than a bier and a smoke? The more I'd drink, the more I'd smoke.

I still have RY4 sitting in my closet, just in case. ;) :toast:

When I have situations like this arise at work, I just go out and take a vape. Then again my boss knows I vape and doesn't seem to mind. In a stealth vaping situation if it was absolutely necessary I could use the restroom and use an unflavored e-liquid. There would be no flavoring agent so no smell.

That said, the desire for cigarettes will diminish over time. I can honestly say I only had one craving for a smoke and that was my first day vaping.

Over all, my advice is that if you do end up smoking a cigarette not to beat yourself up over it. Its the cigarettes (or whatever--in my case pipes) that you don't smoke that matter.

I honestly don't get analog cravings at all.

I vape in the bathroom when I feel the urge, but analogs are not even considered.

I can't remember how long it took to get over the psychological addiction of inhaling combusted plant material, but it didn't take long.

Stick with vaping and you'll be alright. I wouldn't really worry about scents. No one is going to think anything about the smell.

Like many have said, Just take a quick trip to the bathroom or take a quick draw and blow it up your sleeve.
As far as craving an analog, I like to keep several different e liquid flavors in a few different clearos and when I get a craving (which has only happened a few times) I switch up my flavors and I realize that I could never again smoke a nasty tasting cig when I have all these great flavors to choose from. It works for me but everybody is different. When you start craving an analog try a few different things to find what works best for you.
And don't forget to get on here and let us give you the support and encouragement you need! That is one of the many reasons we are all here.

I had the worst craving of my life a couple of days ago. I have been vaping for ~24 days. I was in my car picking up take-out for dinner and thought "I could use a cig right now", went through my mind. Within 3 minutes, it was so bad that if I saw a disabled old lady smoking, I would have "cig-jacked" (my word.....trademark pending, :) ) her. I'm talking an increase in pulse rate, shakes, sweating, the works... It was THAT bad. I grabbed my setup and chain-vaped for as long as it took me to get home(around 15 minutes). The craving slowly went away, and I have not had another one since. Congrats to me! Willpower 1 -- cigarettes-0. So what I recommend is to chain vape if you can. If not, simulate the actions of smoking with a pen, marker, or something similar until you can.

In the 3 or so years I've used a PV, I have had a total of six analogs .. mainly when Jack Daniels weakened my resolve .. and I admit, I liked them .. I have not bought a pack, I have bummed ..

Make sure the PV is with you and ready to use at all times .. and if you seem to be using it constantly, you're like many of us ..

Whether we want to admit it or not, many of us are just one battery charge away from picking up a real smoke ..

I'm pretty new to vaping, so this is great to hear from such an experienced person.
Although I actually really enjoy vaping - and possibly like the flavour and 'vapour smoke feel' better than analogues - I still miss the 'experience' of smoking an old style cigarette.
I'm sure a lot of that is the process you went through so many times - going out on the balcony (for example)... and fixing a fresh drink to take with you... turning up the music (etc)... so the whole 'process' of going for a smoke became part of the very 'pleasurable' habit!
And I miss that 'habit' very much. I guess it just takes time to get used to this 'new' habit?!

I just lean on the vapor more heavily when tempted.
If I were you, and knew that on occasion I would not be able to stick to my 'routine' (let's say), I would definitely put together a small kit for 'emergency' stealth vaping. Small battery or mod (preferably one that doesn't look like a cigarette), no need for a huge tank, a carto would do just fine, and some very strong / high nic juice. I would figure out how I could excuse myself for a few moments so that I could 'take my medication via my inhaler' (if you know what I mean.....wink, wink.....).

Not that one should become 'sneaky' or a habitual liar, mind you.....I prefer to think of it as being 'discreet'.
I must admit that I have vaped successfully in some very crowded (and probably inappropriate) places, even with a larger ego setup. I just sat in the back of the room, and refrained from producing massive plumes of vapor.....lol. Heck, with a small setup, the hallway outside the classroom would likely do just fine in a pinch. On occasion, one has to do what one has to do, dontcha think?

I gotta agree with you here, stealth. One has to do what one has to do on occasion to stay away from those analogs.
You done GOOD! Congrats!!

I chew lots of gum... Not nicotine gum just regular gum, or eat some sunflower seeds... Try and occupy ur mouth, hands and mind and the craving will soon pass

For me, I think this is where the vaping does the trick. I would rather the simulated smoking action of using the hand to mouth, throat hit and vapor than the sunflower hulls stuck in my teeth

I like a good cocktail and I liked cigarettes .. and I'm not ashamed to admit it .. but, I also knew that the smokes were a very unhealthy habit and after 40+ years, they had to go .. while an ecig may not be a perfectly healthy alternative, it is a much better alternative, IMO ..

Just stay calm and talk yourself down from it.

It's like wanting to commit suicide (and really it is, it's just a prolonged death that is legal and advertised).

All these tips work, and to each and everyone it's different as to what works for them. Just chain vape, and get the mentality that what you really want is your vape. You've got to imagine Vape as your crack, and not the dirt sticks. When I quit analogs and vaped 100%, I made myself HATE dirt sticks, the very thought of one put to my mouth made me gag after smoking for 13 years.

You'll get through it, as I said it will subside.
